Can't get it Inflated

,
April 15, 2011
By BAnder
Disadvantages: can't find a pump to inflate it, poor instructions
"First, I don't thing Bass Pro Shops should even sell an inflatable product like this w/o also selling the device that inflates it.
I contacted Sevylor and I ordered what I was told by the manufacturer was the correct pump - it was not, and the 2 ends don't match. The only way to get it to work is have another person forcedly hold the 2 ends together while another person pumps.
So right now, I have a $400+ product where I have to research a way to get it inflated. Really???
The other issue is the manual, which is really lacking in useful information; it says there are numbers inside to show the order to inflate the compartments - there are no numbers. It says there "may" be a built in gauge to show inflation pressure, but the Colorado doesn't have this. So how do you estimate the proper inflation pressure?"

Poor instructions

Disadvantages: very poor instructions
"Doesn't come with a pump and Bass Pro Shops doesn't carry the pumps. You can not use an compressor and a hand pump dosen't work as some of the valves are oversized. May like the boat once we can get it up and useable, so far very disappointed. The instructions are very brief to the point of nonexistence."

Advantages: Value for money
"I bought my Colorado July 24Th and it was delivered on July 29Th. I had it out on a small lake 3 times the 1st 2 weeks and found it easy to inflate/deflate with a hand pump (10 -15 minutes) and very stable. I even had my 5 and 2 1/2 year old daughters out in it. Paddled nicely. Its not a touring kayak but was easy enough to maneuver.
I also just used it in the surf of North Topsail Beach, NC for a week and was more than satisfied with the handling and sea worthiness of this craft. I was able to paddle through the breakers, ride the breakers back in and was comfortable on 3 hour fishing trips up to 600 yards off shore. I did get swamped a couple of times which made for harder paddling but it stayed upright and remained buoyant even with several inches of water in it. My family and I had a blast with this product!
Several family members now have this on their wish lists and many other vacationers stopped by to ask for information about it.
Bass Pro had the best price and shipping costs and time are reasonable.
Economical, no storage issue, rugged, and handles pretty well. A great platform for fishing and hunting!"

DO IT!

"No trailer, NO INSURANCE, stows in your closet all winter (or whenever you're not using it), throw it in the trunk, go to the lake, inflate it in 10 minutes, and you're fishing. This thing is near-military grade. I TOTALLY recommend the motor mount (or make one yourself for like $10,) and a cheap Minn Kota, (have to use some velcro straps to modify mount) but paddles work fine when you get the hang of it. Recommend kayak paddle. NO maintenance, just stow and go. EXTREMELY TOUGH. This is not a toy boat. I have no idea why Sevylor doesn't sell this thing for around $800, just glad they don't. My son and I have caught dozens of large mouth bass out of this baby, and it just keeps on going. Had it for two years now, and just love it. This is one of the last great deals still out there. Just signed in to buy another one; the Fishmaster. I can't say enough about this canoe. Best investment ever."

Help for Tracking Problem

,
July 10, 2007
By Nobody
"We really like our Colorado and had some of the same tracking problems. We found it tracks much better when we loaded more gear in the front. With me in the back (200+) and just my wife in the front, the front strake wasn't doing much good, but when we shifted some weight forward, we did much better staying on course.
Otherwise, everything is great.

Doesn't Track

,
November 7, 2006
By JDJD
from Eglin AFB, FL
"Boat is very comfortable but doesn't track well. I'd look at something different. If I can figure out how to make it track, then I'd rate it a 4. Well made, except for the semi hard rubber strakes that come delivered to your home bent. Takes about 10 minutes to inflate with a electric pump."
