OUTSTANDING!

"There is no better reel on the market right now for the price! I have fished with many types of reel including Shimano, Abu Garcia and Pfluger and none of them can even come close to the smoothness of casting and drag of the 100SHA. I have mine rigged on my pitching and flipping rod. The high speed lets me get the bait back to the boat in a hurry to make another cast and the low profile and over all design of the reel fit snuggly in my hand. The long 90mm handle allows me to get the fish out of cover very quickly after hook-set also. Do yourself a favor and get a Zillion. I have no doubt you will be thrilled with it!"

WELL WORTH THE $$$$

"I was shopping this winter at our local BPS & was buying two Shimano Curado baitcasters ( I already had 3 of these & had no complaints with them). When I got ready to check out, the fishing rep ask me if I have ever tried any of the Daiwa baitcasters, specifically the Zillion model. I said no, but took a look at them anyway. Even though they were about $70.00 more, on his suggestion, I bought one of the Zillion & the Curado.
The Zillion is well worth the extra money. Better braking system, smoother casting & additional distance, better feel in the hand, etc. I now own 5 of these & also bought one for my son for a Christmas gift.
Excellent value for the price, very well built, low maintenance, just a great reel to last the years.
Be safe.

"This is a solid reel. Well built, smooth casting, however for the price there are several equivilant reels for a much lower price giving you a better bang for your buck. Over all i'm pleased."

"smoothest reel. if i had more money i would own 6 or more. The clicks on the main brake is so accurate when adjusting. And the long eye hole on the level wind keeps friction off at full spool and low spool."

Great Reel

Disadvantages: a little pricey
"This is a great reel i have had it for a bit over 3 yrs now and still works like new! Everything about this reel screams smooth from the design of the handle pedals to the body design and through all operations drag, casting, and retrieving ! The only reason i give the reel a 4 out of 5 is i also have a Team Daiwa Sol and for the price being cheaper then the zillion is simply out performs the zillion longer casts and even smoother operation! But all in all a great buy and a good additions to any anglers set up!"

Simply Amazing!

"So here's the skinny...I'm comparing this reel to a Revo STX and both were tested for approx 8 hours (each) on my favorite rod, a Mojo Bass St. Croix 7' Medium/Fast.
First off, this was sort of my first baitcasting reel. I say "sort of", because I originally bought (2) AG Revo STX's, but ended up returning them both. I wouldn't say there was really anything wrong with the Revo's, I just wasn't getting the smoothness or the anti-backlash functionality that I expected from a $200 reel. Plus, both Revo's had a very subtle grinding feel when I reeled and the ergonomics/physics felt weird or clunky when I reeled in (2) 5 lb'ers. There may have been a feature I wasn't using, or maybe it was the reel/rod combo...I don't know, but I'm just tellin' ya' so then you do know. Negatives aside, the Revo STX is still an excellent choice (probably the best) in the $200 range. Anyhow, on to the Daiwa Zillion review.
Even though it costs an additional $70, I would say DO IT! The extra $70 is totally worth it. This reel is SO SMOOTH and built with such quality, it is easy to justify the extra cash. Not only is the Daiwa much smoother than the Revo STX, but it also throws light and heavier lures WAY better, and without the backlash. Again, I am a newbie to baitcasters and so I would expect a lot of bird's nests (I had several major nests with the Revo). However, I have really only had a few minor with the Zillion and those were created when I tried to turn the magnetic brake down too low (hey, I wanted to be a pro and throw this thing without any brakes at all). Oh and one last thing, the sensitivity is so much better, which I think is because of the smaller size and lighter weight when compared to what I was feeling with the Revo STX.
One caveat to my review here is that I only have used this reel for about 8 hours total. However, I caught several bass in those 8 hours (including a 7lb'er!!) and I feel I've used it long enough to know this reel is pure quality and a must have!
As of now, I'M LOVIN' IT, but I promise to update this review should I encounter any issues whatsoever.
Hope this helps and good luck to all!
Nashville Mike"

"These Zillions are power reels. They are stout and solid. I have the Crazy Cranker and the 50th Anniversary, and they are my favorite cranking reels. They are smooth, refined and a joy to fish. All the little clickies and palmability make them ergonomically perfect."

"I am not one who offers many reviews. I am conservative, understanding that time can change opinions. To the contrary I MUST, in fact, this reel is so incredible that I feel OBLIGATED to submit this review.
Simply put: Buy no other, unless you want to buy less quality. I have the 7:1:1 and could not say enough positive. Negative? NONE.
I've tried them all, and owned many (Curados, Revo's, etc)...but NOTHING matches this reel. This is my ONE reel to now recommend. Period. Enjoy!"

"I have owned this reel for 3 years now and it has served multiple purposes over the years from whipping jerkbaits in cold spring winds to throwing spooks and poppars for the fall topwater bite. I would have to say I love the "positive" click adjustments on the reels and it ablitly to handle both small and big baits. It also still feels and functions like it just came out of the box after three years of hard fishing and bouncing around in a rod locker."

"Good reel it's a bit pricey though. Had some trouble with backlash at first but when you figure it out it's not that bad. Paired the Zillion up with a gloomis spinnerbait rod and it works out to be a good setup for spinnerbaits. The drag is ok the reel is smooth and the 7.1 gear ratio is nice when tossing big blades."

"I fish a lot of Daiwa TD-Z type R's and they are my fav reels by far I really wish Daiwa would bring them back! but I also have a lot of Zillions in the rod lockers to and a few Steez.. anyhow this is an amazing reel for the price it preforms like a lambo and is built like a tank and feels great in the hand (Based off the TD-Z frame) these are great reels the cast awesome and are solid you can feel how well made they are when you pick it up! the gears are aligned perfect and stay that way.. the bearing quality is awesome (I change all reels spool bearings to ceramic's before I ever even cast it) if you up grade to some ceramic spool bearings it makes this reel cast just that much better.. One thing i dont understand is why BPS isnt carrying the Zillion rods I LOVE them i have some steez rods and I fish most JDM rods that I pay BIG bucks for but anyhow just to let you good people know the Zillion rods are totally amazing at the price point their at.. the rods are VERY light and pair with the zillion reels and TD-Z reels VERY VERY VERY well... and to me they are more sensitive then the Steez rods.. the Steez rods are lighter on AVG and you can feel where your money went in the Steez rod VS the Zillion rod... but as I said 90% of my rods are JDM mostly megabass and evergreen but after fishing the Zillion Series its gotten very hard to pull 600 to 800 dollars out the pocket for a JDM stick when the Zillion line is right there with them and looks really good too. Any of you out there that own a Zillion reel and are looking for a rod in the 200.00 area should look at the Zillion rods the balance perfect with this reel and everything about them scream quality and the reel seat! is one of the most comfortable I have ever wrapped my fingers around... other then the Air seat on the Steez rods the seat thats on the Zillion rods is the most comfortable seat out there! and it exposes the blank almost as much as the reel seats on the Carrot sticks do! but its VERY comfortable... check them out... Zillion reel+ Zillion rod=match made in heaven..."

"With reels, you get what you pay for. The Daiwa Zillion is the perfect example of this saying. You are going to shell out over $270.00 for the reel and you will have purchased excellent quality. The workmanship, the bearings, the swept handle all add up to making your outing more enjoyable. I have both the 7.1:1 and the 6.3:1 models and enjoy them both immensely. Whether I'm out fishing for fun or if I'm in a tournament, these reels are so comfortable and light that I don't even realize I've thrown over 1,000 casts in a day. Give one a try, you won't be disappointed."

"I love this reel. It fits perfectly in my hand and is lightweight. Casts amazingly and reels even smoother. The drag is flawless. I also love the looks of it because it looks and feels like it should cost $400-$500. I plan on buying several more of these in the future.
