"I troll for Salmon in Alaskan waters and use two of the -red-Octobus Hooks (Size #0/5 and #0/3) on a 40 lb test Leader in combination with a Hoochie. The Hooks a extremely sharp and good to tie. Only the red colour fades after heavy use, but that means that you caught a bunch of fish and it's time to exchange it. To me it's hard to find a better Salmon-hook."

Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Performance, Appearance, Durability, cant catch a fish without killing it
"I used this hook to fish with and the hook would get a bite and the hook could never hook the fish no matter what was done and when i finaly decided to set the hook it killed the fish. I dont recomnd this product due to preformance and the way the point is on hte hook is easy to hook yourself."

"I've tried tons of different hooks on the market, and have stopped searching since I had got these hooks. They're EXTREMELY strong for their size and haven't bent even a little on me. The tips are chemically sharpened, meaning they don't dull as easy and are extremely sharp out of the bag. I use the red size 6 (which run more like a normal size 8) for Steelhead and Salmon, and they are so sharp I've actually not even had to set the hook a few times on Steelhead I've caught. You know when hooks are sharp when you don't even set the hook and find out the hooks gone completely through the tough cartilage in a Salmon's mouth. The upturned eye makes sense when you think about it. When you set the hook on a fish you want the pull to bring the hook point towards you at an angle, and this does that perfectly. In other words, when the hook is in the fish's mouth and you pull on it, it won't come directly out and not catch anything, it will be slightly turned and you will ALWAYS get hooked up. My favorite hook ever, the only downside would be the price... but these are well worth the price."
