not for bass boats

,
December 23, 2010
By CaptRob
from Peabody, Ma
Advantages: Value for money
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Performance
"I purchased this product and it does not work on Bass Boats, I have a Tracker PT160 and it cannot be used on the sides of the boat, the ladder pushes against the side of the boat and the angel it is at, it is almost impossible to use.
The only spot I did find it could be used was next to the motor, but then you have to worry about the cables for steering the boat.

Waste of money

Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Performance
"Used on my Fisher bass boat and does not work.. The arms that go against the boat are not long enough. The ladder goes in so far against the boat that it is at an angle when getting in. The arms need to be longer and the hooks that go over the gunwalls need to be not so wide. Wishing I could get my money back."

Advantages: Design, Durability, High Quality, Value for money, Features
Disadvantages: justa tad too big to store in a compartment.
"This ladder does the job! Getting in my Bass Tracker 190 from the water could not be easier with this ladder. Just set it up just above the cockpit and you are good to go when swimming off the boat, or if you happen to fall in. The only problem I have is that it is just a tad to big to fit in any of the many compartments on my boat. So I use it when taking the boat out to have fun in and on the water, skiing, or swimming."

Poor Design

Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Performance
"The ladder is almost non-functional. We have a 19ft center console so it definitely did not work for us. The ladder is designed for boats that have a thick width on either the front, back or the sides, which we do not. Plus the last stair is too far down in the water to even be useful to get yourself over the edge of the boat. It feels flimsy but its did hold my weight (130lbs) and my husbands (175lbs) but I'm not sure I'd go much higher than that."

"DO NOT BUY !!! It is a waste of money....Cheap, Flimsy, and dosen't work if you have a bass tracker boat...The ladder follows the angle of the boat which makes it hard to get in the boat."

Bass Boat Ladder

,
November 13, 2006
By AUR1971

"Used only once, the arms that are supposed to rest against the boat aren't long enough - ladder had no support - screw holding one of the arms broke off immediately - fortunately no one got hurt when the ladder slipped - poor design, would have rather paid more for a better product, this one was USELESS!"

Do not waste your money

,
July 23, 2006

"Notice the 250lb weight limit. I had a guy 170lbs tops try to use the ladder and the nylon bolts for the support legs broke away. This product is flimsy and collapsed when trying to climb onto my boat. The manufacturer states that it fits the majority of bass boats. Well, I own the most popular bass boat out there (a Ranger), and it doesn't work with my boat at all. Don't waste your money like I did on this poor product!!!"

Bass boat ladder

,
July 11, 2006
By tbracke
from Tyngsboro, Ma.
"Used the bass boat ladder recently during a visit to a local lake with my wife. The ladder does not sit well on the boat (2003 Nitro NX882) and the instructions stated to mount the position posts on the second ladder step. This was incorrect and the ladder scrapped the side of my boat. When I attempted to change the posts to the top tier I noticed the plastic nuts on the posts had fallen off. I followed the instructions and did not over tighten. I would suggest the plastic screws and nuts be replaced with something more durable.I will rework the ladder to meet my requirements but would not buy another and will definately not recommend this ladder to a friend."
