Great release for the money!!!

"Replaced my Redhead Velcro strap release(bad idea to begin with) with this one a few weeks ago and I love it! The difference is amazing and I am shooting better and the strap is dead silent when putting on and taking off, and when drawing my bow. Only thing is in the south where it is humid and you sweat more tends to slide down my wrist. Not sure how long it will last but at that price choot em til it breaks and buy another one"

Disadvantages: for people with bigger wrists
"Can't beat the release for the price. Shot hundreds of arrows with no problems on my 70 lb pull bow. Only thing is its for people with big wrists, i have huge hands and wrists and i am on the 3rd adjustment hole so if you have smaller wrists not for you"

Advantages: Ease of use, Durability, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: just need to break it in!
"I am new to bow hunting and everyone at the archery shop I got to and the archery shop at Bass Pro has told me to spend the money on the $80+ Scott and Tru-Fire releases. I can tell you that the one I have been using is a hand me down that is two year old and worn out. My friend has one of these that is about two years old and works like a charm every time. I can say that after releasing 200 arrows of my own with this, it is AWESOME! Especially for the money. I like the buckle because it makes less noise than the velcro."

"I had a Tru-Fire release previously but a low end model that liked to misfire if even looked at it crooked. I looked a many reviews and prices for the releases I had interest in. After trying on the release in the store an feeling the trigger action new this was the one to have. After getting home with it immediately went out to the yard with mu bow and gave it the college try. After the first few shots it it started grouping my shots closer because it could squeeze off the shots instead of touching the trigger and having it go off almost on it's own. This is a sweet release. Can't beat it for the $$$"

So Far, So Good

"I've been bowhunting and shooting archery for roughly 11 years now and I have to say that I've struggled to find a release that both functions the way I want it to and fits comfortably in my hand. The Hurricane Extreme solved that problem. The fully adjustable neck and buckle wrist strap are a combo that provide both the security and fit I'm looking for in a release. Most importantly, the trigger is exceptionally smooth and I like the fact that I don't have to push the trigger forward to latch the release onto my d-loop. It's a quality product thus far in my eyes but I'll have to wait until the season's end to see if it also has the durability I'm looking for in a release."

"I've had this release since I got my first bow (about five years) and it has held up really well. One of the springs just broke this season and I'll have to get me a new one, which I will definitely be getting this one again. I love have it's a strap leading to the trigger instead of a metal rod and it doesn't get in the way for times when you're not shooting. Sometimes I forget I even have it on. I also like how it doesn't come all the way off and has the tongue to stop it, makes it very easy to put on."

emergency release needed.

from Willor River, MN
Advantages: Performs well
Disadvantages: difficult to adjust
"Bass Pro Shops had this to my house in about 24 hours. I was getting ready for a hunt with an out of state friend and my son had misplaced my release. When i received it i noticed that the adjustment looked to be set to the shortest possible setting. It did take me quite a while to set it up for my liking (the adjustments are a little cheesy). I have it settup and working now and do approve of the performance of the device. Over all felt as if I got what I payed for as its not the top shelf item from the company."

"This release is excellent I've had it for a few years now and would never consider switching to a different model. I have let many of my hunting buddies try it and they all agree that it's an awesome release! You really can't go wrong, I have used it in the snow to -20, rain, dropped it in a puddle and it always works when needed no questions asked!"

Good release for a good price

from Arlington, VA
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality
Disadvantages: adjustment strap excessively long
"I purchased this release a few weeks ago and it really does the job. It is completely adjustable, and fits snug with the buckle and isn't noisy like those made with velcro straps. The one thing I can say is that the adjustments leave you with a strap across your palm that there is nowhere to put, not necessarily in your way, but noticeable. Also, the trigger is extremely sensitive and I have accidentally brushed it and released before setting to my anchor point. Not necessarily a bad thing, but something to keep in mind. I am very happy with this purchase."

Good all around release

,

By ToddOlive

Advantages: Durability, Performs well, Value for money, size adjustment range
"I purchased this for my 12 year old son and it works very well. The range of adjustment, for both wrist size and trigger length, is enough that it would work well for shooters of all sizes. He has only been shooting for a short time, but greatly improved his accuracy when he switched from fingers to the release. The release is quiet and reliable."

"I've used this release during my first year of bow hunting. The buckle is quiet and adjustable. The trigger piece is also adjustable so if your used to firing a rifle there is no break in needed. Just put it on, fix the webbing, and shoot. Holds up well in all types of weather too. For the price you can't find a better release. It's made all the difference in my season."

Excellent release!

By VaStrutBuster
from Aylett, VA
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: none!
"For the money, the Tru-Fire Hurricane Extreme release is hard to beat. It buckles vs. using noisy velcro, and there are lots of holes in the strap so most anyone can get a perfect fit. The trigger opens on the pull and closes when released, and it's dead quiet. Right out of the box, the trigger is as smooth as butter. However, for those that want to tweak it a little, the sensitivity is easily adjustable. Again, hard to beat."
