Fish Seeker

Dives 5' to 80' Planes out when it reaches its set depth Eliminates the need for downriggers and lead core line Dives 5' to 80' with zero hassle. Planes out when it reaches its set depth for very little pull on the rod, eliminating the need for downriggers and lead core line. Rises to the surface when a fish strikes. Not for use with deep-diving lures.

works for me

Disadvantages: Performance
"I've used this many times trolling for trout. you HAVE to stay below 2mph. I've tried to troll faster for a striper and it pops up. I think its more of smaller fish set up, like trout, but it works on bigger fish as well. I set it up according to what the fish finder says, and I catch fish. A LOT of fish. Maybe its the lure but this helps me get to the depth where I need to be. don't forget to use a snubber for trout. I would rate it a 5* if it didnt flip when you cant get bellow 2mph."

"I tried to use this product with spinners, spoons, and even a small suick jerk bait. In all cases, the fish seekers failed to stay down and ended up floundering on the surface within a minute. We were trolling with a small boat and 15 hp motor at minimum idle speed. Maybe we were still going more than 2 mph. I'll probably try it again, but the first few tries were a waste of time."

Disadvantages: Performance
"Not impressed with this products functionality. Could never be certain it was diving at the correct depth.Never hooked up with a kokenee while being successful with other techniques. It may not dive at lower trolling speeds????????? Not sure if it can be used with flashers/dodgers. Very diisappointed!"

"I used two of these while out on Lake Michigan fishing for Salmon in my bass boat (I know, I'm crazy). I used one with a medium action rod and another with a heavy action rod. The fish seeker on the heavy action rod had a very annoying habit of popping to the surface right after I let out 100 feet of line. I switched that one to a medium action rod and the problem went away. However, even on the medium action rods the seekers would occasionally pop to the surface. Very touchy. Trolling speed of 1.6-1.8 mph. I did use ball bearing swivels as recommended. I bought these because I did not want to attempt to mount "small" downriggers on the back of my boat. Overall, I think they perform ok but I wasn't that impressed. I'll probably try another type of diver soon, maybe the Jet Diver. I did say I would recommend these to a friend but that's only because of the price. Maybe they would have better luck."

davis fish seeker

"the fish seeker works great. i pull these anywhere from 30-50ft deep for stripers in south carolina. they work just as good as lead core. first time i used them i caught a 28lb striper running 40 deep. when the fish was on the fish seeker flipped over and helped bring the fish to the survice. still a good fight but it made it easy on my reel. i made a small 3" leader to connect the swivels just in case the seeker was to break but after that i dont think i will have any problems. after buying these i wont be spooling up no more lead core. thanks bass pro for another great product!!"

"I ordered the divers in clear which seem to be invisible to the fish. This product works as advertised and is great since it is adjustable. If you want something that does not pull hard, try these."
