"This lantern is very good, I didn`t compare it with other models, but it is very bright and very easy to use.
With one tank of gas you get 7 hours of light, and you only have to pump the gas 2 or 3 times during the 7 hours."

"I LOVE my lantern. I have had it about 5 years now and it has been great. I have used it from camping to emergency lighting due to power outages from hurricanes, snow & ice storms, ect....
I cant tell you how many times I have used it and everyone says how bright this lantern is. My dad uses his old coleman and this lantern is waaaay brighter. Its like comparing a lamp to a candle. Some of my friends have the battery powered lanterns they are like hanging up a flashlight. I wanted more so I broke down and II bought a hard case with it and it has made for a really great combo. I can not comment on the use of gasoline as I have not tried it. But its nice to have a back up fuel alternative if you should ever need one. Money was a little tight and I thought $75 was a little much, but this thing is worth way more. And the nice thing is that all of the other lanterns I have seen put out a "yellowish" light but this one puts out bright white light...........and I mean it belts it out too. Get one and you wont be sorry. Its one of the all time great camping purchases you can make.

"I wish I could give this Ten Stars!! I have used two Coleman Powerhouse lanterns for over 25 years now with no problems at all. They outshine all other lanterns without even trying.If you are wanting this for stealthy catfishing, don't get it. This will light up the whole countryside and scare the fish off. If you are just camping, get one or two and you will have no light problems at all."

"I have a coleman dual mantle propane lantern that i've had for about 12 years while it still runs great I needed a second, I have a dual fuel stove and decided (so I wouldn't have to bring more propane bottles plus gas) I would purchase the power house which had great reviews...needless to say it works great and no tank freeze ups like propane!"

"The lantern was typical Coleman quality. Worked great, and was more fuel efficient than my older Powerhouse. Bass Pro just threw the lantern box in a bigger box and let it bang around inside. By the time I got it the top had unscrewed and some paint was missing from the body of the lantern. It still works fine, but if I had wanted to buy a lantern that looked used I would have gone to a yard sale. Not a multi-million dollar outdoor company. Definately would buy the lantern again, but would try to pick it up locally."

"dual fuel two mantle power house lantern is a must to have for serious hunters and fishers or campers because the lantern is dual fuel and for naptha fuel is not always available as and when its needed and as long as regular gas is available out in the tundra night, you'll have light for sure so therefore I strongly recommend to every camper tohave dual fuel lantern. "I grew up with my father having the same coleman fuel lattern year after year, so when it came time for me to get one of my own for my family I purchased this coleman fuel lattern and it gives me the same dependability that my fathers gave us growing up. I know the new craze are those propane latterns and I have friends that have purchased them and I watch as they are always afraid of not having that spare propane tank with them at all times, granted the propane ones work good but I fill the tank of my coleman fuel lattern for a full weekend camping and fishing trip and return home with fuel still in the tank, and we do alot of night fishing so it gets the use! The best peace of mind I can have is if for some reason at 2a.m. out fishing and I run out of fuel its much easier to find gas to fill my lattern then it is to find a propane tank, or batteries for those led ones! Dad taught me well!"

"We use 2 of theses latterns for fishing on the boat and they are very good to take the abuse we put them through. I would recomend these to anybody and they do last a while when burning them on high usaully about 6-7 hours for us. I hope Coleman keeps building great latterns like this for futures to come."

"I have owned many Coleman lanterns in the past, I bought this one just to see what all the hype was about. I always read reviews before I field test anything. This is a nice lantern, as far as I could tell it wasnt that much brighter than the older ones, yes a little brighter, but dont expect to be blown away. It opperates just like the old one and is simple to use. I bought 2 and ran 1 with Coleman oil and 1 with regular gasoline, once lit I couldnt tell a difference. I have always liked these types of lanterns and this one did not disapoint."

"I'm in Scouts and needed a good lantern. I have a propane lantern but I just wasn't happy with the light, so I bought this one at Bass Pro. This is the brightest lantern I have seen. Other Scoutmasters commented that it was twice as bright as their Coleman lanterns. This thing really throws out the light and even when I turn it down some, it still puts out a lot of light. This is a great lantern!"

"This lantern from Coleman is super bright. It is user friendly and will burn for a long time on the coleman lantern fuel. I use mine several times a week during ice fishing season, and it is always up to the challenge. My only advise is to be carefull not to touch the mantles when lighting it."

"Bought this last night and tried it out when I got home. Easy to use. Read and follow the directions (especially when using the Coleman funnel - ingenious) when filling and starting. A great - decades old - design that is hard to beat. Liquid fuel is cheaper than disposable propane bottles, is readily available, and works when it is cold out - or you're at higher altitudes. I also bought the optional plastic case - fits tightly after I get handle turned right way. Can't wait to take it camping this weekend."
