"if you live where the lakes/ponds are 5-6 feet deep with lots of 1-3 foot tall weeds from bottom then any rattle trap is the best lure to use. I been using them for 15+ years and always catch bass/pickerel when used. Just today 7/4/11 hooked and landed 25 fish--22 bass and 3 pickerel in under four hours."

"I got this silver and blue lure in a trade with my friend and i didn't even know what brand it was but when I rattled it, it was so loud so I had to try it and it looked good also so I fished in a small pond in the same spot for like 20 minutes and got couple of small fish, it was so loud even I could hear it in the water and then he was there on the end of my line the biggest fish of my life honestly I think the lure called him in but this is a great fish producer and if you get the chance to get a couple, get them"

"I started using the Bill Lures Traps as soon as I purchased a baitcaster 2008. I purchased the baitcaster to use the traps. These lures work well I try to match the trap to the bait the bass are feeding on. I gave a 4 star because I like KVD's a little bit better. The way they stand straight on free fall. Btll's lures are worth having a few in every box."

"I have several dozen Rat-L-Traps in assorted sizes and colors. I prefer the 1/4oz size on ultra light equipment. Any color I have used has been productive for me. They definitely catch more than their share of Bass. This is a "must have" in your tackle box. And, they make great gifts. I'm glad BPS has a full assortment of lipless crank baits."

"i was fishing this lure on a HOT day and we had used a tackle box full off spinners craws worms ect. I put this little beast on and first cast got an "unexpected" bite and missed a fish and the next 30 to forty casts resulted in a fish every four casts. caught a 3 1/2 ponder best fish of the day and got a monster bass and it was the only fish that threw the hook. great action only other worthy traps is cotton cordell and strike king rd eye"

"This is a good lure for locating bass in smaller waters. I've had a lot of success with #72 (chrome/blue bleeding shad). I only gave it four stars because the paint hasn't really held up. After about 5 fish, the paint started to chip. However, I plan to buy more and continue to use this lure. I also like the red hooks that come with the bleeding bait series, not to mention they're sharp."

"I had a friend who fished a mini-trap a few trips back. He was catching twice as many fish as I was with my regular sized trap. The 1/4 oz mini-trap is slightly different from the lipless cranks that fish see all the time. It's small, but it pounds larger bass! The hooks have finally improved over the years, too, to make this a great "go-to" bait."

"I use Mini-Traps when fishing with an ultralight combo. They are a bit pricey, but if you look around, you can find good deals.
I have caught smaller bass, as well as crappie on the mini-trap. I have several different colors, but the bleeding shiner in clear water and the orange crawfish in murky water tend to work best for me."
