Best Gear Bag for the Money,December 21, 2006

"I have owned many gear bags over the years and I have to say these are the best! I use the 12x12 in the canoe where the waterproof bottom keeps my fishing gear dry. It also doubles as a weekend travel bag. The 15x15 hauls all my gear on longer trips. I strap the 18x18 to the roof of the SUV for road trips. The material is tough as are the zippers and handles. The Redhead Deluxe Gear Bags are the toughest I have found anywhere. I love these bags."

"bought the bag to put on my 4wheeler for long rides. we had water,food,rags,headache medicine,and whatever else you could think of and really nothing got too wet. alittle water got in but what would you expect if you drown a 4wheeler in 4 feet of water."

"I have been using outdoors products for over 30 years. This bag is not waterproof as Bass Pro claims.
I just came back from Canada, and drove 15 hours non stop and drove through a 2 hour storm. All my clothes for 10 days were in this bag in my trailer behind my vehicle. Fortunately we were early and I checked my clothes and found that about 1/3 of them was wet.
The bag itself is waterproof, but water comes in through the top and side zippers. There is a small fabric flap over the zippers, however it is not sufficient enough to prevent water getting in, especially when going through a storm at 60 mph.
Get a better bag, I fell for the lower price. You need one with the opening flap that rolls over.
I will be returning this bag immediately."
