Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Ease of use
"great for flipping, bream, or crappie
works much better with a bigger eye on the end, the stock one is a bit small and can snag if using a slip cork"

"I used it for the first time a couple of days ago. I could fling my float and minnow a nice distance, without sending the minnow into orbit. I could dip and doodle, and hook setting was easy. It is also nice and light to handle. Great price too! I like how it collapses, and has a cover for the eyes to prevent damage."

best pole ever!!!

"i bought 2 of the 10 footers at the nashville store back in the winter. i mainly only fish for crappie on kentucky lake. they are as tough as nails!!! i hung a 12 lb blue cat spider rigging and was able to land it no problems. now before you buy these dont get the idea that you can cast these, that aint what they are for. it is a fiberglass cane pole. but if you understand that before you buy these then you will truely be very satisfied with them. i got plans to go back and get more. being able to retrack them and get them out of the way makes these the best choice, even better than the ones ones that cost 4 times as much. best of luck, and GOD bless!!"

Better than expected

"I spend most of my time Crappie fishing in flats with live bait. Sometimes I'm searching for fish and sometimes I'm catching fish. With these poles, I can quickly lay out eight poles on my holders, but when the fish turn on and eight poles are not manageable, I can quickly fold up a few and get them out of my way. No more long rods laying in the floor to trip on and get tangled up. These poles are tough too! I've brought in 7lb Largemouth with these, and 6lb mono will break before the pole will."

"I am impressed with the way the sections lock when extended, and the ease in using (extending and collapsing). They are very limber, but hold up even when landing a slab crappie or decent bass. I have a small jon-boat, so have to boat-flip them in and the rod held up fine lifting the fish and rigs."

great for tight line trolling

"I've used these rods on the front of my boat for over 5 years one on each side 14 foot long. I use shorter rods (4) on the rear of the boat for tight line trolling Lake Wiss AL. several lakes in Ga. and Tenn. They give me greater fan coverage in a 24ft. sweep be hind the boat and have enought back bone to reel (2) keeper crappie in at the same time more than once.It is easy to pack up at the end of the day. They do not cast all that great but what i use them for they do just find.Feed a little line out as you troll."

The Crappie Rod from Uncle Buck

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: Appearance
"This rod folds neatly and fits in the truck of my Corolla. It is like fishing with a cane pole, but better. If you are a serious Crappie Fisherman get the better pole. If you are just once in a while, then this will do nicely. Get a Crappie Reel for easy fishing."

Good bank pole

Advantages: Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Performance
"If you are a minnow dunker, this one will do.
But, it is , in my opinion, too heavy for jigging feather jigs, Maribous etc.
I came to this conclusion based on using a graphite Shakespeare Crappie Pro that I was given last year.

worst purchase ever

By JD123
from Douglas County, Oregon
Disadvantages: Difficult to use, way too heavy
"This 16 foot pole gets to the outer edge of weed lines ok BUT... the weight of the pole is much too heavy.. I had to tuck the butt of the pole under my arm and hold it with my hand also... Therefore I could not feel any nibbles or soft bites at all... After holding this pole for about 15 minutes my arm and wrist were so worn out I had to quit fishing... I think the idea of this pole is really great but, It needs to be much, much lighter, I mean a whole lot lighter.. I can't see how a child could fish with it..
All in all... this pole is not fun to fish with....
SORRY UNCLE BUCK, BUT I CAN'T RECOMMEND THIS POLE TO ANY-ONE THE WAY IT IS...

Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Value for money, Quality
Disadvantages: eyes will come loose but easily fixes
"I have 4 of these rods now. One in each length . I use them for bottom bouncing and straight lining and drift/trolling light jigs. I love these rods although I wish they had just an ever so slightly faster tip. When it's windy they will bounce a little crazy . They aren't so bad that they can't be used though. The only true defect to these rods is that the eyes might come unglued on you at some point. I carry 5 min. quick dry epoxy and tooth picks at all times in my plastic 3700 series utility box marked terminal tackle . So when it happened to me it was a quick fix . Other than this defect these rods are the most easy to transport from one crappie hole to the next rods with reels out there. Try one and you are sure to like them too.."

"this is the crappie rod ive been waiting for. i use it the same as the black widow rods but now have an ultralight reel to provide a drag. theres not much more frustrating than using a black widow and hooking into a catfish by accident and having it just span your line right off. this rod fixes that problem."

"I have used the 13 ft pole, on both ends of a (5) five pole trolling rack. Always get a strike on the turn on the both the top and bottom hooks. Can sense the most sensitive bites. Has plenty of backbone for the big fish. Easily stored and setup. The 16 ft pole is very cumbersome and too heavy."

"This is a very versatile rig. I installed a light weight spinning reel and six pound test line. It works very well for panfish in the lily pads or trolling for crappie and walleye. My wife and I can troll four lines with two of these and two ugly sticks. Works for us"
