"I got some #4 and #6 and a couple of #2 loads from a friend. Great ammo. Not really a noticeable difference in recoil. But the knockdown power is there. Pricy"

"If you want a shell with the longest knock down power, try the Nitro Mags.I use the 3" 20 Ga. usually 4's for Squirrel, and 6's or 71/2's for Grouse and these get the job done with ease. The #4's also will work Great on Turkey too.If I'm not using Nitro mags,I'm using Rem. Express for everything else I need. They have Never failed me yet! Good shoot"n !"

Disadvantages: price, no shot sizes over # 4
"I bought these for a wild pheasant hunts. They are great for shooting wild birds that flush sooner than a planted bird. The Nitro Mag does the job! Just wish they made them in shot sizes bigger than # 4."

Advantages: Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: not available in #5 shot
"I have used these loads extensively in both my 12 and 20 gauge 870 Wingmasters with excellent results...from turkey to long range pheasants, not to mention late season varying (snowshoe) hares...with a full choke they will reach out and bring home the game."

"I have used several turkey loads that i like but the price on these makes them my number one pick for spring turkeys. I have brought four turkeys in the last two years with them I am confident in the knock down power and accuracy. Also try the nitro turkey loads from remington, they work great."

My favorite pheasant load

"Item 38-894-597-00
Remington Nitro Mag: 12 ga; 2-3/4"; 1-1/2 oz; 4 shot.
I've been using this load for decades and find it to be the absolutely best over all pheasant round.
I shoot Nitro Mags through a cylinder bore and consistently take birds out to 45+ yards. With this combination I rarely seam to miss.
I have tried similar loads made by Winchester & Federal but find the Remington Nitro Mag to be the best.

Remington Nitro Mag Shotshells Top My List

,
September 13, 2006
By SqrlHunter
from Cincinnati, OH
"Over the many years that I have been a squirrel hunter, I have used a variety of shotshell/choke combinations with some success. None of my previous combinations has topped my experience using Remington's Nitro Mag shells. I typically use the 2-3/4" #4 shot with an extra-full choke. Some may think that this is extreme, but it adds to the challenge of the hunt when you cannot use .22LR, allows you to really reach out and touch your game, and ensures that you humanely take your game due the the tight patterns. I strongly recommend these over any other shell that I have used."
