"Bass and pickerel love these lures. Great action while trolling or casting. The yellow Black Fury #3 looks like a large bumble bee in the water, a nice fat treat for bass! Sharp treble hooks and the lure is built to last. I always have a few in my box and will switch to them when the spinner baits are not producing."

"The Black Fury line has to be one of the best spinners I've ever used. Tho most of mepps lures have a high catch rate something about the black fury is exceedingly brilliant.
I've never had any other one lure attract everything from 4inch baby panfish to 2-3lb bass. The same lure on the same day, actually I didnt tie anything else on the whole day on the water. It must just be an all around fish magnet.
This lure is subtle in its movements and colors while still being outstanding enough to attract fish. Someone hit the jackpot with this design. Well done Mepps! 5 stars!"

"The Mepps Black Fury, in any of it's sizes or color patterns, rates at the top of my "Lure List" for anything from perch to Bass and Walleye, and I always keep an assorted handful on hand.. Over the years it has become my #1 "Go To" lure... I've often found fish would hit the Black Fury when they were passing up just about everything else...... "If they won't hit a Black Fury, they just ain't hitting.""

"95% of the time I fish for Bass using cranks, and plastics. When the action is slow or I cannot find the bass I throw this Mepps black fury I got from a guy at work onto my light spinning tackle to catch a few quick Walleye. This usual eases my frustration of not catching any bass.
Again, When it is getting late and I promise myself (or my wife) "one more fish" sometimes I will just throw this on and catch a quick Walleye so I can go home for the evening.
Just cast it to shore and reel in. During hot days cast it across tree shadows. Walleye hate the sun.
The Mepps black Fury I have has yellow spots and a single barbed hook. I have never gotten it snagged as it is pretty light. It casts surprisingly well.
The largest fish I have caught with this lure was a male steelhead/rainbow trout (I dont fish for trout/salmon so I don't care to know the difference) during the spawn. It was about the size of a 3 pound smallmouth. A nice fish. Pretty colors. Usually I am just catching small Walleye and small smallmouth with this.
I am pretty amazed with this lure. Walleye love it, I bet if you got it deep enough you might even catch some big ones."

Size Makes a Difference

"I've used these in many different situations, but one thing I've learned is that size makes a difference. There are many situations where I want to use a 4 or 5, but the fish won't bite bigger than 2 or a 3. This is where the problems start coming in, because sizes 0-3 have the most durability issues. Either the blades (where they connect) rust, or they just don't spin. Unfortunately, I've had this problem only on the MEPPs."

"I started using these spinners ever since I first learned how to fish. This was the first thing I fished other than bait on a bobber. Ever since then, I have been hooked (no pun included) to this spinnerbait. It is very visible in the water, and it looks apetizing to many different types of fish. There is no other spinner that is better than this bait. It works at any time of day. It is also very durable. In fact, I still have that spinner that I first used. I love the fact that I can fish this spinner fast or slow and in bolth shallow ponds and deep lakes."
