"Pedastel was a good replacement, but only lasted about 5 years and all the gas leaked out. I think it should last longer than that for $100 pedastel. Also the price has gone up about 25% from the last time I bought one."

"Springfield makes the only salt water proof pedestal in my opinion.I have tried other makes and they don"t last any time.This is my second one in 8 years.The salt water did not hurt it but the gas must have leaked out of it.I would buy another one."

"The Power Rise Pedestal by Springfield is wonderful! My husband is a tall man and the standard pedestal that was on our Ranger Boat was just too short and cramped his legs after a day on the water. He now comes home just tired from fishing and no complaints of leg pain."

"This seat pedestal works great !! The only down side is, my latest fishing partner has been my sister-in-law and (not weighing that much) she had some difficulty compressing the new piston. I'm sure it won't be a problem when I take some of my male fishing buddies."
