Disadvantages: boat clamp was of no use.
"Here in Florida we use these baskets for chum fishing. The quality of the product was fine and as described on the website. It did come with a clamp that was a little aggravating for our use, but hubby was able to make the modification without issue. I would recomment this product to anyone who is looking for a decent fish basket."

"The larger version is really hard to find and a good deal. The regular size one can be purchased just about everywhere else.

"The purchase order went through and delivery was made in a very reasonable amount of time. I mistakenly ordered one with a clamp for boat use . I needed one that raised and lowered on a rope/cord etc. So cut the clamp off and welded the wire ring in a circle and it works fine."

"Loved the other one I had, but it finally gave up the ghost and so I got another one. If I hadn't liked the first one, I wouldn't have bought this one. It's great for small pond fishing, which is what I do. I would imagine it would be great for other areas as well, but I like knowing where the basket is when I'm in the middle of catching fish."

"These keep fish in excellent condition. At the end of the day you can decide whether or not you want to keep your catch. As for the guy who complained about it not floating--Who cares? You have to pull it out of the water to get your fish in anyway. If you don't, you risk tossing your fish into the lake rather than your basket. It is handy to have one at each end of the boat when the crappies are biting well."

"I purchased the Large floating basket last year at the end of the Black Crappie Season when our lake begins warming up above 60 degrees. I had a chance to use it and I've put 12 crappies, specks as they as called here, in the basket & it did not sink. I had four that were 11-12" long and the rest were 10" long. The basket has done well by me. After removing the fish from the basket I rinse it out & let it dry out until I use it again. I don't keep it in the water all the time; that may be the cause of the baskets rusting out prematurely."

"I am very happy with the 2 basket's that I orderd . I have takin them & mounted a foam ftoat around the top so it willfloat next to my toon . This realy worked well on my trip to Bear Lake in UTAH . My son & I went fishing for Bonniville White fish on our toon's. We had a great time & was able to sneek up on the whites with out scareing them with motor's. We were able to catch our limit of 10 fish each & the basket's not only floated with us , they held all the fish & did not sink. After the fish were easy to remove & take care of . Thank's great product !!!"

"I have used the Jumbo basket on several trips and have lost many crappies. I cable tied the bottom shut after one outing thinking that fixed the problem, but fish still escape. I then started keeping the handles out of the water by tying them to the dock or the side of the boat, fish still escape. I had a 10 inch bluegill escape Monday and still cant figure out how it got out. The other seven crappie were in there but the bluegill was gone. It works most of the time, but not all the time and I cant figure out why."

"I picked this net because it sinks and I can lower it to a depth where the water temp is much cooler than at the surface and as a result my catch has a much better survival rate. Also, it protected my catch from a giant snapping turtle looking for an easy meal. Last year my son-in-law, Todd, lost a wonderful stringer of pike to probably the same turtle."
