Zoom Zoom® Soft Plastic Baits - Baby Brush Hog

There are plastic baits, and then there are Zoom baits. The difference is undeniable. Want proof? Just take a peek inside your favorite tournament angler's tackle box, and start counting the Zoom bags. For those who lay it on the line every time out, there can be no other choice. Every Zoom soft plastic bait is wholly realistic, super-soft to the touch (for the extra action needed to pull that reluctant money fish) and salt-impregnated, to hold even the most tentative bite.  Zoom's most popular creature bait, the Baby Brush Hog looks like nothing and everything all rolled into one. This freakish crawfish/lizard/worm hybrid Baby Brush Hog features a slender body with high-action appendages which help slow the fall and create loads of vibration and appealing movement. Great for pitching, flipping or swimming, the Zoom Baby Brush Hogs are deadly on virtually any rig, weightless, Texas or Carolina.

Go-to bait year round

,
April 23, 2012
By Dupid
Advantages: Ease of use, Style/Design, Performs well, Quality, good range of colors
"I got hooked on these baits several years ago and I still hook plenty of bass with them. I really like the green pumpkin and the addition of some color (flakes) also help. I recommend using some chartreuse dye on the small tail flaps. Texas or Carolina rigged they flat out get the bass interested."

"If you ask any fisherman in central Louisiana, they will have this in their boat. This is the most popular worm fished around. There will be 3 bags at all times with me. Dip the bottom in chartreuse garlic dip. Works when nothing else works"

Disadvantages: Durability
"I use these all of the time! I fish many places in Louisiana for bass, including my neighborhood lake. These work almost anywhere at any part of the day. I can always rely on these when im not going strong with other baits. My favorite colors are the Watermelon w/ Red Sparkles, Green Pumpkin, and JuneBug. I use the green colored for the clear water early in the morning and later in the evening and the JuneBug colored for muddy water and for the evening. Only Disadvantage about these is the bass eat them up so you'll have to change the bait after a few catches ."

My Go-To Plastic

"Whenever I am out on the water and nothing else seems to be working, I go back to my baby brush hogs. For over a year now I have had more luck with this lure than anything else in my tackle box. I wish they were a little heavier, but overall they can not be matched. Have tried the larger sized brush hogs, but they don't seem to come anywhere close to the performance of the baby brush hog."

GOTO BAIT

"this is the best plastic bait i have ever used. DONT GET THE FULL SIZED BRUSH-HOG it not as good as the baby. this small bait catches huge largies in the lakes of florida. throw near brush on the outside of vegetation or near pontoon boats or docks. fish it weightless on a 5/0 mustad ultra point hook. the key to this bait is its fluddering apendages so just throw near cover then let it drop if no bites the just hop it off the botton a couple times if still nothing just reel it in. i use watermellon seed color. this bait is very soft yet durrable. its soft enough for the hook come out when a fish bites but its durable enough to be caught up in weeds or just be fished alot without breaking.
I hope i helped you

"I bought some of these in the green pumpkin color and got some shaky head jigs to go with them. The next day i was fishing in the cedar river with one of my friends, he was using a berkley power worm and i was using a baby brush hog. On my first cast i got a hit but i missed him. Later on in the day i hooked one and it was a big small mouth bass about 3 or 4 pounds i will buy these again in the future."

"I live in Central New Jersey where finding a place to fish from the shore can be challenging. I usually fish with top water lures; I wasn't use to tossing plastic worm's or creature baits. This summer (2011) a friend turned me on to Brush Hog’s; I have to tell you they really work! I've been going out on a weekly basis and I've caught fish just about every outing. Usually this time of year the fish catching for me slows down dramatically, but not since I've been using Baby Brush Hog's... I recommend Green Pumpkin, Pumpkin & Alabama Craw."

"You may not believe it, but this bait works excellent for swimming with a slow/moderate retrieve. I rig it with a weighted swimbait hook, and just slowly reel it in with a couple twitches. Very nice action."

"Very nice bait - perfect size. It's better than the original hog because you can catch all sizes of fish. The tails get ripped a bit easy, but that's the only flaw."

Go to bait when fishin gets tough

"I have to admit I never really used creature baits until here recently. Fishin has been tough, so I took the oppurtunity to do some experimenting with baits I would not normally use. The Baby brush hog was my first choice. BOy was I surprised. 1st time using them caught 12 bass in a few hours on a heavily pressured lake with temperatures of 92-96 degrees, and that was at 5:30 A.M. Buy a few packs to try yourself. They really catch fish."
