Disadvantages: Quality, Durability

"The discharge hose broke twice sparying the side of my boat and the channel. The connection to the discharge side of the pump does not lend it self to an easy repair. I have had this pump 2 months and am replacing it with something more reliable. Also the suction hose is too flexible making it difficult to reach the bottom of the sump."

Very Handy Machine

"This oil changer works well for removing oil from problem machines like pushmowers, tillers, and other equipment with small engines. These types of machines are notorious for getting oil all over the place when draining them or the drain plug is incoveniently located. I gave it four stars because the tubes that come with it are too stiff. The machine would be easier to use if the tubes were not permanently curled. Keep in mind this is a $20.00 machine so don't expect it to last a lifetime. So far mine has held up well."

Good pump poor directions

"While I have not used to change engine oil I have used to change tranmission oil. As you know a Mastercraft tranmission has to be pumped out. Worked well and did so in just min. with an engine temp of about 70 degrees.
However the insturctions do not tell you that the small hose is pick up only. If reversed the hose blows off and oil come out of the pump full force LOL. What a mess.
But pump works great for what I used for."

12v OIL CHANGER

"I used this on my Mercruiser 305. It takes forever to pump out the oil and won't pump the engine completely. Comparing it to a hand pump, I would rate it poor. It's also very messy. The oil stays in the tubes and pump and the entire unit must be placed in a bucket to keep from getting oil over everything. I'm taking it back for a refund."
