Great case

"I bought one of these cases about 2 months ago for my competition rifle (savage mk II BV) it is absolutely GREAT!!! I have a Tasco target/varmint 10-40x50 scope with sun shade on the gun and still have room in the case for 3 10rnd and one 5 round mag inside the case without it touching the rifle and scratching up the finish while being moved around. All I can say is this is an absolutely wonderful case. You cannot beat it for the money. what makes this deal even better is that SKB will insure any firearm or other equipment you have inside the case worth up to $1500 dollars and either pay to have it fixed or replace it if anything is damaged while being transported in this case. Certainly worth the money in my opinion. If you or someone you know has a firearm and transports it alot then this case in would be a great gift in my opinion."

"LOVE IT! I got the double rifle case so I had flexibility to pack 2 guns for about the same space/size as a single rifle carrier. It was surprisingly easy to haul (though I had 2 other suitcases to haul) thanks to the smooth wheels and nifty magnetic handle. It was easier to check than my other baggage and SW didnt even charge me for it. Very sturdy. I dropped it twice and am sure the airline kicked it around but my shotgun is fine and the case is not damaged. This case is lighter and smaller than the Pelican, which is only worth the extra money if the case is going to be submerged in water. I removed the middle foam and loaded in my shotgun in a soft case, but the SKB easily fits both my shotgun and rifle with scope. Don't bother with inferior brands. Protect your investment. Make sure you purchase Gear Guard - SKB will replace a damaged gun up to $1,500.."

"I bought this case to hold my 700 sps varmit. I thought it would be big enough to hold the rifle but with the aftermarket H&K Tactical stock and my Leupold 6.5-20 x 50 scope it is really not the case for the job. To get my gun to fit I have the stock touching one side and my turets on my scope touching the other. I guess I should have sprung for the double case instead. But overall it is a very well made case and a guy can't beat the waranty. It will fit every other rifle in my safe so I am going to keep it and go ahead and buy the double also."

"After having two other cases ruined by the airlines, I bought a SKB Double Takedown from Bass Pro in 2007. I took two trips with no problems. In May 2009, I returned from a hunt in South Dakota and picked up my case at the luggage terminal. One end was crushed with two hinges and two locks busted. The case was still tight and the locks held. After forcing it open, we checked both guns closely and they had no damage! Somebody had to really work to destroy the case but it did the job and protected both guns perfectly. You will never regret buying these cases! I went right back to Bass Pro and purchased another SKB!"

"When I bought my Ruger Red Label, I knew I wanted the best case I could find to protect it while going from point A to point B, found SKB breakdown case fit just what I needed & wanted in a case. SKB just can not be beat. Prices are a little high, but when you are looking to protect a Red Label or any expensive gun, it is better to spend the extra. Then be sorry."
