CMC Power Tilt and Trim

Benefits include quicker out-of-the-hole starts, increased top-end speed, more prop clearance in shallow water and better gas mileage. Powerful and reliable motor provides 20° trim or 90° tilt. Available with or without dash-mount trim gauge. 6" setback increases boat stability and improves prop performance. The mount is pre-drilled for standard BIA bolt patterns (12-7/8" top holes on center, 9-7/8" bottom holes on center) and is rated for up to 130 HP outboards. Optional adapter kit for transom clamp motors and optional transom spacer for pontoon boats. Includes stainless steel mounting hardware, wire assembly and switch. 5-year structure warranty and 1-year hydraulic system warranty by manufacturer.

"Bought this baby a month or so ago. It took me about one and a half hours to change it out with the old Mercury tilt trim on my 90 horse. Tool it out the next day and could not be happier. I t realy works great , and so easy to install. Thanks CME, saved me several hundred bucks on having the other reworked or replaced."

"I have one of these on my 16ft bass boat with a 70hp Johnson and it is very nice. Moves my old 70hp Johnson (235lbs) up and down very smooth and fast. It is easy to install and comes with very detailed instructions. I would recommend using a stress plate on the back side of the bolts for extra support. Also, spend the money for heavy grade bolts it will pay off in the end. Awsome system."

"I got this product to lift my 40hp on my Bass Tracker 17 and it does fine. It was very simple to put on, as everything lined up and was just a matter of removing the nuts off the bolts that my motor was mounted with, sticking the trim on, and mounting everything back.
I've used it pretty extensively over the past couple of weeks, and I've had only one problem with it. The breaker that comes with it (already wired) pops every now and then, and the one that they sent to me had a broken reset button.
However, i did call the company, and they sent me a new breaker free of charge and it is taken care of now.
I'm not a complainer...but this is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. We'll see how this new breaker fairs!"

"The unit was a perfect universal fit and a quick install (if you have a motor lift or a hoist). Just 4 bolts out and 8 bolts in, no drilling. real smooth.
I have it on a 48hp evinrude and it works Great! Its great to be able to trim a boat that didn't come with it and a nice back-saver for lifting the motor at the end of the day.
The wiring harnesses are all prewired! just snake it through and hook it up!! I was left with plenty of day to play with it.
It is strong too! already hit a stump and broke my skeg, but the CMC unit is still going strong, no issues. Definatly a great buy!
The trim guage is a nice touch too, but not necassary.
My only issue was with the shipping, not CMC's fualt, but if you are looking to pay up for "3 day" shipping it is not real...more like 6 days."

"Installation was easy. Very nice package unit. There has been two times when the unit was trimed all of the way down that it wouldnt start to come up without alittle help. Both times, once it started up it worked fine. Don't know what the problem is yet"

"Have now had 3.5 hours use out of the unit. All time was motor running at different pitches. The motor felt stronger. Easier to plane, no more porposing, better whole shot and a little faster top end.
My only gripe, which i fixed.
The toggle they provide sticks out. Like a toggle switch will. where do you mount it so it becomes second nature to use?
Solution : purchased the Transom trim control,
mounted it to my throttle control. Put the toggle switch
at the transom. good to go. Until ice up!"

"fast install.No problems with mounting or wiring.Replaced original broken hydrolic system on my motor with this brand and saved $1500.00 compared to what the dealer was going to charge me to fix.Lifts my 90 HP with ease.Even rewired it to my switch on the throttle body lever.If not the kit includes the switch and mounting hardware already."

"I own a boat w/ a 40hp Evinrude outboard and had to replace the tilt assembly. I was going to go w/ the manual tilt because it was what was already there. But my repair guy suggested that I get the electric model; and I’m glad it listened.
I have only used it a few times thus far, but it works flawlessly and makes boating / fishing less “work” and more pleasurable."

"This review is based on install only. i just installed it yesterday and i have not had it on the water yet.
This unit was very easy to install! I did it by myself with no crane for my motor. i have a johnson 40hp and here is how i installed it. 1st I put a floor jack under the motor and unbolted it. i slid the motor as far to one side of the boat as possible. i then mounted the new cmc unit. next i slid the motor and jack over to mount on the new unit. the final step was running the wiring. it was that simple! it seems to work great and i hope i am as happy with the longevity of the product as i was with the ease of installation. ill be testing it on the water tomorrow.
only complaint would be that i think the 2 relays should be closer to the switch so i could have mounted them under the console away from any water. i will probably extend the wires so i can do so."
