Customer Reviews for Stanley Jigs Stanley Jigs® Hot Feet Ribbit™ Frogs

Stanley Jigs Stanley Jigs® Hot Feet Ribbit™ Frogs

Producing the same heart-pounding, strike provoking action as the original Ribbit Frog, Stanley Jigs' Hot Feet Ribbit Frogs use the added appeal of boldly colored, kickin' Hot Feet to drive big bass crazy. The Hot Feet Ribbit Frogs are very versatile, and are most effective when buzzed along the surface or rigged weedless and fished over logs, grass beds or lily pads. Unrigged.

"This is by far the best top-water frog I have ever used. In fact, I caught my biggest bass(7.5lbs)on this lure in color 92. It is also by far the most versatile frog I have used. Whether buzzed or popped across the surface, or used as a jig or frog- colored chatterbait trailer it has ALWAYS produced results. Thank you Stanley Jigs for making such a wonderful lure."

Smells Bad

Advantages: Style/Design
Disadvantages: odor
"Frogs contain very strong garlic odor -- almost impossible to get smell off your hands, other baits, rod handles, etc.
I don't plan to use these baits again."

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Value for money
Disadvantages: Performance
"I have had great sucess with thse buzz frogs. The only problem I have found is durability. The noses seem to rip pretty easy and they don't last long. Caught 50-60 bass the other day that were up to 4 pounds."

"This is a good lure for largemouth bass. It is very versatile because it is a surface lure or a subsurface lure. I would recommend using a "Gambler Double Trouble Toad Hook"."

"I never fished with frogs before but had heard good things about these and decided to give it a try. First cast I caught a nice 3 pound bass and had nothing but goodluck with it ever since, its just a little hard to set the hook but overall a very good lure"

"These guys have done me a lot of favors when a messy pond is the only thing you can fish. For the people who say they aren't catching fish on it, it is because they aren't waiting long enough after the strike to set the hook."

"After 5 seperate trips to sam rayburn and toledo bend, this has never produced a single fish. they swim great and sound awsome on the water, but i have never had luck. i can go behind the ribbit with a devils horse or pop r and bust em up. the legs do make good trailers for jigs and spinnerbaits though."

Decent Frog

,
October 6, 2008
By FIGJAM
from Middle TN
"This frog is best used with a swimbait hook that has a shaft with barbs or the screwlock on the hook. If you use an offset hook with a bend near the neck it will start to tear the frog. This is a very fishable lure depending on how fast/active the fish are. If they want it slow and on top you might have trouble with it sinking. If you want it to sink into holes in the cover put a 1/16 oz bullet weight on your line at the nose of the frog. Overall I had good success with the frog when it was reeled on a steady retrieve just to where the legs kick."
