"I have worn this boot for 8 years. I use it exclusively when I handle venomous snakes (mostly rattlers). The boot has sustained bites from 12" snakes all the way up to 5'+ snakes. The boot absolutely works. Another great advantage of this boot is it is 1" taller than other brands. That 1" could mean the difference b/t a "hit" and a "miss". However, the boot does have its drawbacks. The boot is uncomfortable and does not breath. It is hard on your feet and definitely has a long break-in period. Those with larger calves may need a more adjustable boot. Overall, I rate this product a 4/5 because the boot works as it is intended. It is a SNAKE-PROOF boot and to that I can testify that it is truly snake proof."
