"I purchased two of the half ounce kits that come with replacement baits, one hook and one weight.
1) The baits are too soft and continually slide down and bunch up on the hook and they do not hold up to repeated punches through a grass matt or Spatterdock pads they are also too small for the hooks that come in the kits.
2) The weights worked fairly well in the pads but in the matted grass one weight came apart pulling my bait out of a clump, the wire just came out of the back and the weight was lost. The other weight suffered the same fate while fighting a fish. As the fish jumped and shook the wire came out and the weight was lost.
I think this system shows promise but the baits need to be made of a tougher material, the hooks matched to the baits for size, and mostly a better way of putting the wires in the weights so that they will not come apart."
