"I fish on a reservoir that does not allow gas motors, and have used the 36-volt 101-lb thrust AP/US2 version of this motor for over a year now as both my trolling motor and primary propulsion. Without a doubt, the Terrova is the best investment I have made to enhance my fishing experience. As expected, this motor is extremely powerful – it will propel my Grizzly 1754 (2000 lbs including passengers, batteries, etc.) at 4.2 MPH per my GPS. What was not as expected is how much more pleasurable this motor makes my fishing trips. The primary benefits are found in the remote-control and the auto-pilot. I cannot recommend these two options enough. To be able to freely walk around my boat and control the motor from the remote hanging off of my belt loop is great. The auto-pilot has three key benefits. First, you can just set a direction, move slow and fish the shore. Second, you can point the bow into the wind, and set the autopilot to just hold the boat in position when working a favorite spot. I used to find fishing in windy conditions very frustrating, now it is not a problem at all. Thirdly, when you hook a fish (especially if it is windy), just as with fishing, you just point the bow into the wind and turn the motor on. The boat will stay out of trouble for many minutes while you focus on the fish. No more being blown into shore while dealing with a fish (or any other thing that needs your attention). I highly recommend this motor!"

"Minn Kota listened to my suggestions (I guess) for they came out with just what I was begging for. On the foot peddle.... there is a light to tell when the motor and auto pilot are on. I can turn the motor with just the touch of my finger. (I sit in the middle and drive the boat while my clients fish from the front and back of the boat.)
The peddle was re-configured to make it more user friendly.
I love it.... I love all 3 of mine. LOL Stan"
