but when you buy it at a bps store make sure its the on sale because it was online but not at the store but the nice people at bps gave me the sale price when i told them it was wrong"

"I have owned this reel for about 6 months now and it still works and looks like new. Granted it is one of about 10 combos I use, it is one of my go to reels for crankbaiting. It has a nice low gear ratio and is smooth enough to fish all day.
The most attractive features of this reel to me is the nice low profile and how light it is. You can palm it very easily and I never have backlash problems with this one."

"I fish almost exclusively with Quantum reels, which are in my opinion the best ones out there for the price. This one, however, is highly disappointing. From the start, the reel makes a "whizzing" noise on the cast, every time, and the casting distance is not that great. The retrieve is however smooth. Now with the price up $10, I definitely don't recommend this. There are other, better reels on the market at this price point that are much better."

"Bought two of the 5.1:1 ratios reels early this spring to use for crankbaits. Nice reels that do the job.
Smooth, a nice feel, plenty powerful, and the drag system works well and is reliable. Pretty good value, especially when you catch them on sale. The centrifugral brake system works best with medium/small to larger baits.
The only dislike I have of them is the design of the star drag. The tips are kinda sharp and I have scratched myself while battling fish out of the rough stuff a couple of times. Except for this, a pleasure to fish with."

"I purchased this KVD baitcast reel a few months ago and have used 5-7 times and it's a GREAT reel for the price. It has a very smooth retreive with the "Burner" 7.0:1 ratio and 10 bearings, and casts very smoothly. I've had great luck with Quantum reels and highly recommend this one."

"I order my KVD baitcaster as a gift for my birthday. after a month or so on backorder i finally got it! I planned a fishing trip to test it out that weekend. went out and on the third cast the ACS 2 control knob broke it just spun aroufd and arounf and left the spool with no mag. brakes.returned it and after just under a month recived my replacement. i took it out of the box the flippin and pitching switch was busted and it seem to be part engaged the gears were really grindy. Im seanding it back and i'm done with Quantam. i gave them a shot but if you going to put your decent name and KVD's signiture on it try to make a quality prouduct!! Not junk. I'll take my return money and put it torwards diawa's viento! I should have read the reviews before buying."

"Just one more for the collection. Not a bad real but the first one i had the line loaded up on the right side because of the guide hanging up. bps was great about exchanging it for me and the new one works fine. Flippin switch is a good feature to switch up strategies in a split second. very dependable now and i can fish this reel with confidence."
