great rod for the price,October 16, 2009
By turkeymerckfrom North GA
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
"This rod has performed well for me. I know that there are better brands out there that can outperform Browning in fishing, but for the price, Browning is hard to beat at times. I fish the 6'10" MH for tossin sammy's almost exclusively. The handle is a little long to work walking baits with but the action of the rod coupled with a decently strong back bone make this one of my favorite rods to fish with. I would not recommend this for flippin worms or jigs. Topwater, some cranking situations and jerkbaits are what I like to throw on this rod."

Light and Sensitive,September 7, 2009
By papajoe222from chicago, IL
Advantages: Performs well, Value for money
"I've only had this rod for two weeks and it's already replaced my old favorites. It's soooo light! I paired it with my Daiwa Sol and couldn't believe a combo could be that light. I hated to put it down when changing techniques. While admiring how light it is, I was blown away by how sensitive it is. Just yesterday I switched to a reel spooled with braid and fished a tube rigged on an internal jig head. OMG... I could actually feel the tube ticking the sparse weed growth. GREAT ROD and even a greater value at the sale price."

Good Rod - Not Outdated,July 7, 2009
By CowboyFanfrom Memphis, TN
Advantages: Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Lightweight, sensitive Disadvantages: not as much backbone as others
"I think another reviewer reacted below without reading the product description. Yes Browning had a Boron rod blanks several years ago, but this rod has a new graphite/boron composite with a 85 million modulus rating. BIG difference.
The rods are light and sensitive. I have a 7'0" medium that excels with jerkbaits and 3/8-1/2 oz spinnerbaits. I also like using it in a pinch for floating trick worms and some other topwater baits too.
I especially like the way the rod is designed to tighten down on the reel. The whole foregrip twists to tighten the reel down and the foregrip does not touch the blank - it just turns around it. In some ways this give you some of the benefits of the no-foregrip rods. Though not as sensitive as my Kistler rods, this one is pretty darn close.
I only give the rod four stars because my particular model rod does not quite have the backbone of some of the other 7' medium rods I own. I have a 7' Falcon Cara T7 that may be a tad less sensitive, but does better setting the hook than this particular Browning. I must admit that this may be more of a personal trait than a deficiency of the rod itself. I would certainly consider another Browning Midas, but in a different action."

Good Rod,March 18, 2009
By PainInTheBassfrom Milton, Ontario
"I bought this rod last fall and am writing my preliminary review of the rod. Based on the weight, sensitivity and balance, I would consider this rod to be excellent quality.
The rod is very light (IMO) for a rod with a full rear grip. It is likely because of the full grip that the rod has the excellent balance it does. The rod balances just below the foregrip with a Daiwa HSTA Advantage reel mounted on it, making the combo feel extremely light and a pleasure to cast.
The medium action is perfect for me as a crankbait/jerkbait rod. It has enough flexibility in the tip for my purposes but nice backbone for hook sets.
Overall, I am very happy with the rod."

cost,March 10, 2009
By fishbillfrom texas
"This rod is an out of date item. The new rods With the new components are a lot better and for the cost you can get a lot better rod. These boron rods have no advantage over the new breed of rod and if they were special you wouls see the pros using them and they don't. Some things get better as time moves on and our rods and reels have done that so why go back 20 years. i have several of these rods and they are not bad but the value for quality is great distance apart."

Good Rod.,August 20, 2008
By Shuffletownfrom Charlotte, NC
"It's a good rod, but it only has a one year warranty. I almost gave it four stars for that reason.
I bought it to match the Midas reel, but I would suggest getting a Falcon, Fenwick, etc... for about the same price and have yourself a rod with a lifetime warranty."

Midas 7'2" XH,June 3, 2008
By Robeyfrom California
"I just recieved this product last week and used it in a tournament on Clear lake this weekend, it performed very well with plenty of power to pull fish out of the jungle and the sensitivity surprised me for such a stout rod, it is as sensitive or more sensitive than my rods that cost 50% more and just as light or lighter. I also got the Midas reel in 7.1:1 gear ratio, it is a little heavier (9.5 oz) than I like but the drag is smooth and strong. I definately recommend these products at thier normal prices and if you get them on sale they are a steal."
