"great rod and reel. bought specifically for speckle perch (crappie) and bream. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! will purchase another one. perfect for the kids too. caught speckles, bream, bass, gar, pike, white perch, catfish, and bowfin. need to get one for yourself. gethooked"

"This reel is can cast very far, but the rod is different story. I did catch a 10 pound catfish, about 30 crappie, and about 7 bass but the rod just snapped when I was casting. In all it is strong but it does break"

Big things come in small packages,

"WOW!!! what a strong little rod. I bought one of this combos for my first spinning rod ever. I didn't really realize how small of a pole it was until i got it. I was about 95% sure it would break within the first month i had it, but it ended up lasting the whole year and i still have it but i don't really use it anymore. All i do is fish for bass and pike but mostly bass. I caught many smallmouth and largemouth bass and even cought a 30'' bowfin and a northern pike too but it wasn't very big. What a strong little rod. The reel didn't cause me any problems either. I believe that this rod and reel is made for perch, trout, and crappie fishing because you can really feel the fight with these types of species on your line. Great rod for younger kids."
