Advantages: Design, Durability, Features, High Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: too fast on slower speeds.
"This trolling motor not only runs great but has an led light underneath the console. The only gripe I have is that mounted on my little 14 ft john boat, sometimes even running on speed #1 it is still just a tad fast but with such a small boat that is to be expected. Speed #5 boogeys! GPS clocks it at 1.9 MPH on my 14 footer."

Plenty of thrust but,

"I have used this motor several times and it does not lack power but the tilt mechanisum is awkward to use and difficult to engage. I compared this to some old motors in my shed and found it to be an old Minkota design from probally the 80`s. So if your a senior fisherman and have a problem reaching around to the rear of your boat this will not work well for you. Other than that it functioned well with enough power for the type of fishing I do."

"Peterborough Ontario. Purchased in July 09. Bought it for the shorter shaft, Thought it was under powered but moves my 14" Aluminum around with ease in wind or current. I use it every weekend.Two reverse and five forward speeds to get you going. Peace of mind knowing spare parts are available at resonable price. Highly recomend this to anyone, great value for the hard earned dollar."

"This Motor is amazing. I got me 15ft John boat, me and two buddies fished for five hours mostly running this motor at its top speed and it never ran out of juice. I bought a standard $50 marine battery when I got it. 30hp is perfect for movin across the lake and for trollin."

"I would recommend this motor to anyone this is a great price. When i buy my next one it will definately be a prowler. However after hitting about 10 or 20 rocks the prop cracked but Bass Pro has all my needs fixed well priced motor and prop."

"I purchased this great little motor for a 10' jon boat. I can troll all day long with 2 people and all of my equipment with no problem. Very quiet, well built and an excellent value. A friend of mine liked it so much he is going to buy one for a personal pontoon. Well done BPS!!!"

"I purchased this trolling motor the first week of August and have used it on a 12 ft. Tracker Jon Boat which was purchased at the same time and have been very pleased with it. The motor has more than enough power to propell my boat. I've gone fishing every morning for the past 4 days and used this motor at least 6 hours each trip and have not even ran my marine battery down so doesn't use much power, even on high so have been pretty satisfied with the performance so would deffienently recommend this motor to anyone!!"

"i've got a 15' trihull and this motor is a great little addition to help with fishing and to use as a back up. pushes the boat great along the water. plenty of punch for the price. i find the cables long enough to reach my battery. perfect little motor."

"We used this motor for 1 year. Never had an issue with it (the prop was well tightened for us). We had it transom mounted on a 12 ft. alum. rowboat on a 137 acre lake. This is a Fab motor for the small boat fishing enthusiast. It does not require a Marine battery either - bonus! We have since Upgraded to a ProCrappie boat (BassPro Shop) - but will always love our 30lb Prowler!"

"This motor works well, however the first time I used it the prop spun off. Make sure that you tighten the prop nutt very tight with the provided tool. Good performance where I fish, no complaints. Would have rated a 5 had I not have to buy a new prop."

"I bought this motor because it had the features I wanted and the max thrust I could use. It performed great. A piece of the prop broke off when I ran shallow, but it probably should have been alot bigger piece by how many times it hit objects."
