"This is a great reel. Very smooth, very fun to use. For people with baitcasting experience though, its probably too touchy for beginners. As a college student without much money, the cetina gets me a whole lotta bang for the buck; the only thing separating it from higher priced reels is its spool capacity, which isn't even issue for me cause I respool with fresh line long before I run out. I am especially a big fan of the 7:01 ratio. I've had it for over a year now and fished it too many times to count and I haven't had any reliability issues at all. So if you don't want to spend a hundred or more and are still looking for great performance, this is the reel for you."

"i must say that as a revo user i was really surprised at how well this reel performed out on the water. this thing will truly cast my lipless cranks a country mile. smooth retrieve, casts, and drag when catching largemouths out in 7' of water. really impressive for the price."

poor casting distanc,January 10, 2009
By jrskeeterfrom MS
"Bought this reel as a cheaper alternative to the many Shimanos I have. It feels great reeling, very smooth but the casting distance is ridiculous. With a loose brake and half ounce trap I had to heave it to get a third of the length i can get with a shimano by flipping my wrist. Gonna try and return asap"

worth MUCH more!,August 26, 2008
By Angler88from South Florida
"I've neglected to write the review this really deserves. I have the 'Echelon' also and it's a decent reel, but lacks smooth cast control (braking), and at the time, this reel was only $15.00 more-now it's $25.00 more and still worth every penny! The six pin cintrifugal brake system adjust easily, and is enclosed in a dial, so the brake pads wont 'POP' out like a couple of my $180-$250 Shimanos do. I think the few bad reviews I've read here must be factory mistakes...EVERY reel has their share. But my experience with this 'Cetina' has been nothing less than wonderful. As another reviewer commented, with plastic lines....mono, flouro, co-poloy's etc. under spool the line a bit, and backlashes are hard to develop, and I've found it handles braid, and other superlines with ease. Makes long casts, and retrieves super smooth, and fast, making it easy to cover a lot of water in short time. I am really surprised at how sensitive and strong the drag is, again, comparable to some of my higher cost reels. This is a great choice for a primary reel, or an addition to any anglers arsenal. I don't want to forget to mention it is also lightweight, and quite a bit smaller than the 'Echelon'. For the money, or even more money, I believe this is one of the better, dependable, consistent performing reels that you can buy. A worthwhile investment. Buy one!"

pflueger cetina reel,April 30, 2008
By kenj
"worst purchase ever. gears are clunkers, braking system is very poor. won't cast 60 ft with either 10lb mono or braid. either I got a manufacturers defect or if typical this is a joke. also makes a lot of noise but that won't matter because I won't be using it."

"This reel is super fast , casts great ,too much line will cause some birdnests. Take some out and youre ready to fish. Takes minimal effort to retrieve.Cannot beat the price better than Browning reel baitcasts i've owned. BUY THIS REEL!!!!!!"

Makes excellent paperweight,February 8, 2008
By tablerockbasserfrom Springfield, MO
"This reel looked good and performed well the first two times I fished with it. Then it decided to fall apart. The level wind sticks and only works when it feels like it. I bought two and took them back to Bass Pro, who is excellent in customer service, and bought another Quantam Energy PT. Pflueger is a terrible brand and if I were to buy another I would use it for a paper weight or anchor for my son's jon boat. I've been disappointed before with a Pflueger President and was stupid expecting better results with the Pflueger Cetina. Take my word, don't waste your money because you will spend more time getting your money back than you will fishing with it before it falls apart."
