This is the reel that operates on the "extreme" end of the scale when it comes to inshore pursuits; the one that pushes strength and durability to the limit, yet offers the precision needed to present the most delicate bait to the most defined spot perfectly. We built it beefy--really beefy--to give you the confidence to target big fish without resorting to oversized tackle. The internal gearing is over the top; both the pinion gear and the crank shaft are solid brass, for power you can rely on in the heat of battle. We used high-strength aluminum for the rigid 1-piece frame and sidecovers; both the power handle and drag star are forged aluminum; and the extra-deep wide spool is fully machined-aluminum as well, for casting performance you won't find in any other inshore reel. The 6-bearing system includes double-shielded, stainless steel bearings that won't yield to corrosion, plus PowerLock™ instant anti-reverse. Externally adjustable Radial Tuned Braking uses both magnetic and centrifugal systems to feather your cast perfectly. With its nick-proof titanium nitrided line guide and overbuilt 6-disc drag that delivers up to 16.5 lbs. of drag power, the Inshore Extreme is the reel of choice for the trophy seeker! Weight: 9.7 oz. Line Capacity: 14 lb./145 yds. Line recovery: 27'' per handle turn. Gear ratio: 6.2:1.

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Style/Design, Value for money
"This reel was made for power i have pulled out numerous amount of snook and red fish. The finish is a little shabby but the performance is what matters. The abuse will be seen only on the outside but the performance will show none. For its price its worth every penny. Apparently this reel not only attracted me but some thieves. I'm planning to buy this reel again very soon."

first impression,April 24, 2009

Advantages: Performs well, Style/Design, Value for money, saltwater use Disadvantages: quality of the finish
"This is only my first impression. When I first bought the reel I was impressed with its specs.
Then now I am pleasantly surprised with the performance of this reel. It has a strong drag and casts well. The brakes while not as great as Daiwa's Magforce Z, are almost as good. The freespool on a calm day actually casts better. There is a slight movement of the spool and noises possibly due to the tolerances that are not up to par with the most expensive reels but they don't affect the performance. I caught my first striper of the year with the reel.
The only things I am hesitant are the paint job - chips easily; the rubber handle knobs are too smooth so when its wet its very slippery; and the Bass Pro button already fell off because its just glued on.
Hopefully I will be back to review this reel again after a year."

bulletproof drag system,June 7, 2008
By fishstickfrom texarkana, texas
"i bought this reel to fish for trophy size blue catfish in the red river here in southwest arkansas. the reel's drag system is amazingly strong and smooth. i had a problem with the spool release not re-engaging sometimes after a cast. i sent the reel back to exchange for a nitro reel that is basicly the same reel as the inshore extreme. if you go for really big freshwater fish either of these reels will do the job."

Smooth + Powerful = Awesome,April 8, 2008
By LowCountryAnglerfrom Savannah
"I purchased the Inshore Extreme baitcast reel on the Inshore Extreme rod/reel combination and I have been amazed by its performance. I bought it to be a power combination for tackling big redfish, jacks, and other tough gamefish that I need to power out of heavy structure. It has worked without a hitch. The drag has been so powerful, I can yank big reds from under docks using heavy braided line. The drag will kick in when needed and it is super smooth. It is also an amazing casting reel. I can cast light baits into the wind with great distance and have no backlash problems. I have also given it double-duty as a heavy freshwater setup for largemouth. I've used it flipping heavy cover and for topwater-frog baits. it gives me the power to yank big bass out of lillypads and other junk. The reel itself seems well crafted, and seems built for power."
