Danner®'s Stitchdown Construction creates a wider platform to deliver increased stability and an incredibly durable base underneath your foot. This heavy-duty construction process starts with conforming the upper to one of Danner's durable lasts and then flaring this piece out to cement it to the midsole. These two pieces are then stitched together with a heavy thread in an interlocking stitch for a super secure attachment. This firmly stitched boot is then cemented to a top quality outsole to deliver a boot ready for hard work and abuse. In addition to delivering a superior boot, this process also allows you to re-sole the boot to add years of life to these top quality and top performing boots. The Danner 8'' Frontier GTX Hunting Boot is an all-purpose hunting boot designed to keep you comfortable and protected in the most extreme conditions and terrains in all seasons. Its rugged full-grain leather and 1000 denier nylon upper delivers comfortable protection from the elements while the Frontier GTX's stitchdown construction delivers great stability and durability. Cant beat Danner Boots,January 6, 2009
By WoodyNCfrom Mountains of NC
"I have had a pair of the Frontiers for 3 years now, and they cannot be beat. Mine are not the GTX version, but the only difference i see is that mine are lace to toe, like the Acadia. They offer out of the box comfort, and no break in period. I hunt Deer and Turkey in both the Mountains of NC as well as the flat land of SC. They have great support, and the soles grip regardless of the terrain or weather, though I admit that i have not worn them in the snow or Ice. Out of the past 3 years of hunting, my feet have gotten wet 1 time when I decided it was a good idea to sit in a Deer stand in a day long torrential downpour, and i suspect that the only way my feet would have stayed dry was either by staying indoors, or by wearing fishing waders. Only thing I have noticed is that the top of the tongue squeaks when walking, so use some saddle soap or something to get rid of the unneeded noise.
Overall, i am picky about what boots I wear. I wear Danner at work, as regular every day shoes, and to hunt in. The quality and comfort cannot be beat in my opinion, and Danner even offers reconditioning through their factory. If you manage to wear them out, mail them back to danner and for around 100 bucks, they come back with everything from damaged stitching repaired, new mid soles, new soles and the leather reconditioned. They can't be beat, and from my experience, if you mess them up you have acomplished something."
