"I purchased the 7'6" 3wt and have absolutely loved it. I have used everywhere from mountain streams in North Carolina to Alabama stocked rainbows. I recently used it on a guided trip to the South Holston River in TN and my guide was skeptical of the shorter 3wt rod but he used it showing me something and was impressed. I have caught everything from a 6 inch brook trout to 17 inch browns on this combo with no problems at all. Plan on getting a 9 foot 6wt in the near future."

Learning to Fly,February 19, 2008

"as an avid fisherman I thought it was time to take up fly fishing...so last season I headed to the Vaughn Mills Bass Pro shop and spoke to a salesman about where to start..he steered me towards this combo and Im glad he did. This is a great begginers combo, its very forgiving and fairly easy to cast, it gives me the versatility to go after trout, bass and pike...as a guy learnign to fly I recomend this combo to anyone starting out
man are my arms tired...could be a little lighter, thats why I gave it a 4"
