"Great bait. Lots of action. Holds up well for a plastic. I have only one reservation that stems from were I fish. This bait isn't good for fishing wild rice. It sticks to it. If you want to use it for this application, put an oily scent on it and replace it frequently."

"This new rage series has been a real winner for strike king. I think this small rage tail shad is awesome. It moves the water and makes tons of noise. It is great with a heavy wire EWG hook. Because of how they are packaged every bait will work as planned. I throw one when I see a school of shad in late summer. Great bait even when the water is a little murky. If you want a solid profile from a soft plastic topwater this is the bait for you."

"This bait has awesome topwater action and when texas rigged is entirely weedless. I will always throw this before other topwater lures. The plastic is very durable which helps with the higher price. I use superglue to repair beat up baits if I can."

"I was dissaponted in a type of frog i bought so i thought id give these a try. I got about 12 blow ups by fishing it over moss pads. It has a unique topwater action and is louder than most soft plastic topwaters. Hooking the fish is hard tho and i only hooked a few of the fish. I think you ned to use a 5/0 ewg hook cause i was using a 4/0 and not having much luck. I also think some of the fish were too small because this is a pretty bulky bait. Cant wait to try this in lakes with bigger fish that will be able to inhale the lure."

"this is a great soft bait. i picked up a pack and tried it out today just to see what its like and the action is incredible. it make more noise than my buzzbaits. i haven't caught any fish yet but only because i have cast it a grand total of two times. just make sure you rig it how it says and it performs flawlessly. great bait"

"I love using the ragetail shad. It is like a soft buzzbait that is weedless. The action of the tail is unique to any other lure I have used before. You can work this lure pretty slow and still have good kicking action. I work it like a frog over weeds and the bass cant seem to resist this thing. I switch to this lure when I am skunking out and it usually ends up producing bites! The tails on the lure are pretty heavy so I have lost a few to backlashes and just casting hard, but never on a bite. They are a little pricey, but I seem to always buy more."

"I'm not sure where some of you are coming from on not being able to figure out how to rig it. I picked up a package of these, and had no problems getting strikes and good lure presentation right out of the package.
It took a couple missed bites to figure out how to connect with the bites, but since then I have been tearing fish up on them.
I throw a 3/0 wide gap hook on them on braid. You can throw it anywhere and have yet to have a problem with missing fish. I have also yet to have a tail rip off. People that are having this problem need to change something, whether it be the color or how they are presenting it to the fish. The fish are shortstriking it for a reason. They like it but there is something off that is not getting them to inhale it."

"This bait has become my favorite top water lure. I love the smokey shad color. going to try the pearl color for the first time. I love using this bait on a Gamakatsu Skip Gap 4/0 hook, it doesnt slide down too much. I have noticed alot of short strikes(on the tail), so i am going to try a 5/0 next time out. This lure is durable, i have only had to use one bait per outing and i used it alot. I have never experienced losing the tail yet. Actually, i was getting alot of hits on this bait, so my partner started using it. He was fishing in the front of the boat and I was in the back. He had a bass hit his bait and it did rip the tail off, so i casted in the same area he did and actually hooked a bass. When I brought it in the boat, I noticed it had my partners tail in its mouth, So Bass do love this bait!!! Google strike king rage shad and you will find more info on this bait along with different ways of using this bait. like using it as a swim bait, or on a jighead. Good luck!!!

"This is a great bait! I fish it topwater. Use a offset 5/0 Super Line EWG hook made by Gamakatsu with no sinkers or weights. Always rig with the tail up! For better hook sets I expose the point of the hook on top of the bait a little. Using a steady retrieve running the bait on the surface the bait should run perfect! This bait gives off a unreal sound and motion as it swims the surface that I think fish really have not heard or seen before. IT CATCHES FISH! This is one of the best topwater baits I have used. Try One!"

"I picked this up one night casted it toward a tree in the water. I reeled it at a constant speed back to me, and right when I went to bring it out of the water, a bass nailed it. I was really surprised since it was so close to me. That was the first of many fish with the rage tail shad. I like the smokin shad color the best, and I love to use this bait around any type of cover.
Rigging it can be hard at first, but once you get the hang of it you'll be catching fish left and right. I rig this bait with a 4/0 EWG hook. I texas rig it with the tail up. Before you start fishing with it, make sure it is straight.
Cast it toward some cover (I always use a baitcaster and I think you should, too), and reel at a constant speed with your rod tip pointed up for a slow retrieve and down for a fast one. Always be ready for a strike, because like my first bass with this lure, a fish can hit when you least expect it. Wait until you feel the fish until you set the hook, as you should with all topwater baits. Since this is a soft plastic bait, if you set the hook early you might still hook the fish solidly. Still, you will hook the fish better if you wait until you feel him. I highly recommend this bait, especially for evening fishing."

"I bought a pack or rage tale shads a month or two ago and am now a firm believer in the rage tale products. They produce at all times of the day and can be just plain casted and steadily retrieved or they can be sputtered with short jerks of the rod. The silver and white is best in lakes where shiners are the main forage and truly look like a dying fish on the surface. I have gone through many packs of these because they produce and bass just tear them up. I'm sure I've caught at least 30 bass in the past two months on these softbaits alone. Nothing beats a topwater strike and strike king is definitely no longer just a maker of spinnerbaits. Go out and get a pack of these and try them out yourself. You'll be amazed!!"

"My Grandson got me a package of these Rage Tail Shad for Christmas . Our weather has warmed up some and I was fishing a low tide in the Sacramento Delta and the weed mats were all on the surface . I was fishing a top water along the edges of the weeds for about an hour , I had 2 short strikes but had no fish . I noticed the Rage Tail and thought I would tie it on to see what kind of movement it had on the water . I made 2 cast down along side of the weed edge and I thought what an action , I would have never thought this bait would have so much action and noise . I rigged the bait weedless so I made a few cast over the weeds , on about the 3rd. cast there was a huge blow up and the bait was gone , gone down the throat of a 4lb. bass . I caught 2 smaller fish , still solid keepers . The action slowed down as the tide came in . When I got home I thanked my Grandson for the gift again and he told me he got it at the new BPS in our city . He said the man in the store told him that his Grandpa would really like it . The color was a light colored bottom with a watermelon with black flecks . I will be getting some more real soon . They should really be good this summer ."
