Awesome, November 3, 2009

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"I bought this package a year ago.

I purchased from Bass Pro in Hanover, MD. The guys there put it together and sighted in for me. They did it all in about 30 minutes. I was so pleased with the whole purchase.

I took it home and shot it one time. Right dead in the center of the target.

On my 3rd or 4th hunt I was able to take a nice 10 pointer. The crossbow performed flawlessly.

I took it out for the fall hunt this year and again, right dead in the center of the target.

I am very happy with everything about this crossbow. The price is reasonable for the quality you get in return.

I recommended to my brother in law and he has one now.

Great crossbow, November 1, 2009
By CurtisOnline from Pennsylvania

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"This is my first crossbow. I owned my previous bow for 15+ years. I figured it was time for a crossbow when my arthritis started to give me problems. I could not ask for a better crossbow. Its fast and the triple red dot sight makes it easy to shoot without having to adjust the rise. Just remember to take of the safety before trying to shoot that trophy deer. Also cary extra batteries for the red dot sight."

Advantages: Ease of use

"Bass pro had the best price
It took about 5 min to unpack and get familar with the few pieces needed for assembly.
The parts fit together so precisly I had to use a sharp razor to remove some burrs left on from the molding process.
Within 8 shots I had the crossbow zeroed in.
I like the mult-a-range 4x32 scope because it is like my other guns. I set the center cross hair @ 20 yds. so the 2nd coss is 25 yds and the third cross hair is 30 yds, you get the idea
I prefer this to adjusting for a shot using the side dial which the instructions tell you to use to set your scope.

"My husband bought this bow the other day. Since you can now hunt with a crossbow in archery season, he is trying to get all of his brother's to get one just like it. Great quality, accurate and well worth the money!!!"

Great for the money., March 1, 2009
By GuideEddie from Massachusetts

"I know there are alot of crossbows on the market and that can get confusing. I did hours of research before shopping for a crossbow. I went to the Mass. store and talked with Steve, who was a great help. I got to shoot a few and decided on the Horton. Got it home and in minutes I was shooting super groups from 20 - 40 yards, 2 to 3 inch groups to be exact. I have even shot out to 65 yards, target only, and consistently hit within 2 to 3 inches of the intended spot on target. For the money this crossbow can't be beat!"

Awesome Crossbow, November 20, 2008
By fishforfun2002 from Indianapolis, IN

"I received this bow on Nov 14, put it together that night. I went to the range to sight it in and found it to be dead on at 20yds. I went hunting on Nov 17 and killed two deer, the first was a broadside shot at 20 yds and was a clean pass through. The second was at 40 yds, angling towards me, left shoulder clean pass through! Both deer only went about 30 yds before they piled up. I was using a 100gr expand-on-impact broadhead.

I LOVE THIS BOW!

Big Time Bang for the Buck, November 1, 2007
By Bigrack from Birmingham, Alabama

"I am 50 years old, and (humbly) a well-known professional with more than ample resources to devote to my hunting passion. I spend between $60,000 to $75,000 every year on hunting purchases, trips aross the country and outside the US, improvements to my acreage, etc., to hunt with my sons and my clients. I say all that to say that I have invested lots of dollars over the last 25 years in some "big ticket" items.....custom guns, scopes, other optics, etc. but have found that
oftentimes, the BEST quality investments I have made are NOT necessarily the most expensive ones.
The "RealTree" package of this Horton 175 crossbow is a perfect example of that reality. When I first started considering a crossbow after they were legalized in Alabama, I investigated others in the higher cost brackets, thinking surely there must be a HUGE advantage to a bow that cost $1,000 or more than this one....but since I don't ever necessarily "waste" money just for the sake of "show," I gave this particular Horton a serious look. After all was considered, and not being completely sure I would be totally comfortable taking up the crossbow, I settled on this Horton............and I could not be any more satisfied if I tried.

Once I got accustomed to it, (which took only a few minutes) and learned the proper cocking and safety measures, and got the sight dead on at 10 yards, I have fallen absolutely in love with this crossbow!!!!
It's strong, it's sturdy, it's reliable, it's quiet and accurate, and it shoots straight and strong as wrought iron. As we are now in bow Season here in Alabama, I have all but put my custom compunds back on the wall. This is especially so, in that the scope Horton makes for this bow is just downright fantastic. I have faltering eyesight due to kerataconus, and the clarity, crispness and ease with which I can capture a target and a deer is 1,000 times better than looking through a peep sight. Plus, I have more location options to hunt from now, as I can use the Horton and stay seated in "lounger lock-ons" that I have in several of my favorite "honey holes" which were extremely difficult to hunt from with a compound.
So, I give a HUGE dose of approval and recommendation to this crossbow, and when one considers the relatively affordable price of this package against the much more expensive brands which might get out of reach of many hunters, I assure you THIS bow gives you a TON of "bang for the buck."

Beutiful and XXXtremly Accurate, September 9, 2007
By superchargedadam

"I'm am a Well rounded Deer hunter (at least 20 deer kills) with 17-20 gun kills. And 4 bow (((old 40 lb recurve bow (kills) 1 deer , 1 gar((fish)) & 2 cottontail rabbits. I Have never fired a Crossbow bigger than a (Cheap) 25lb crossbow pistol. I Bought my Horton Team RealTree 2 weeks ago. (( From What Ive been able to read "Crossbows are only Accurate at a (Maximum) Range of 60yards. I'm Currently sighting in my scope for ranges of 80-90+ yards. ((( This bow is Awesome.))) (((( This CrossBow has Amazed me!!!!!!)))) It is unreal how accurate it is. "You May Need Help At First" " I Did" Two hours later I was consistantly Nailing my other arrows at 20 yards away. So I decided to try a real challenge and shoot from 40 yards. I ONLY adjusted dialarange compensater 2 notchs and am scoring exceellant shots as long as I DO NOT JERK. AT 80+ Yards I can hit within a 15 inch grouping. (With no Wind blowing.) I started with 15 arrows and have only lost ONE It was my own fault. Only Warning is(BUY a GREAT ARROW STOP!!!! )This is not your Bow NOR your Fathers CROSSBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (( THIS Bow SHOOTS THROUGH MOST "" CHEAP"" Stops"
