Great for saltwater jigging!,July 27, 2009
By NJAngler26
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well
"After tipping my bucktails with Gulp my keeper to short ratio on finicky fluke has sky rocketed. They work great for catching those picky doormats that wont seem to commit to cut baits. I wont go out without having a couple packs on the boat!"

Flounder Killer,July 22, 2009
By PondPounderfrom Virginia Beach
"I've been a freshwater fisherman most of my life, so when I moved to the east coast, I was eager to target some new saltwater species. I found that the fish in the Chesapeake could be quite finicky at times. Even the most dedicated fisherman tends to lose heart when he can't seem to catch many fish.
I first started fishing Gulps a few months ago after reading some reviews on various websites. The first time I fished them, I was amazed at the number of bites that I was getting. It was like using live bait, only better because the bait could be used over and over again and didn't require any special maintenance (like hauling around a minnow bucket).
My favorite color is the 3" pearl white pogy. Flounder love them and will aggressively hit them on a 1/8 oz red jighead. When you start to feel a tapping on your line, lower you rod tip and let the fish chew on the bait for 3-4 seconds, then start to reel him in.
Another way I like to fish the pogies is on a drop shot rig, about 4-6" from the bottom. Instead of tapping the bait, flounders seem to be much more prone to inhaling it, so I have started using a circle hook to prevent them from swallowing the hook.
I would highly recommend that you purchase a separate snap-closed container to keep your Gulps (and the juice) in. The plastic screw top container it comes in is junk and will leak all over the place. Also, if you really want to improve your catch, thread some fluorocarbon through the tail and add a tiny #16 treble hook stinger in the tail. It's deadly on just about anything that bites!"

Deadly for redfish,March 25, 2009
By JEMCGfrom Florida
"Put one of these on a jig head and work the flats. Redfish will devour them in short order. They also work great for trout and flounder on the saltwater flats. Our best color here in the south has been the white."

This work great,January 12, 2008
By Rob1from San Diego, CA
"I have more than one great day fishing with Gulp. Last weekend I out fish all my buddies until I shared. Another great way to use this once it finished put your 3”-4” flipping tubes in the bucket. This is the best way I have found if you need to change colors. The sent does not stay on too long but it works well."

Want some action??,November 11, 2007
By RobinHood1from Houston, TX
"I've been using this bait for Flounder fishing and it's like the secret weapon I keep hidden when I go wade fishing. Days I go out with Gulp Alive, I just don't get the tugs that will keep me busy. The problem with this bait is that EVERYTHING goes for it. I'm a big Rapala XRap user. I did a little experiment and tried throwing both baits for 1 hour in the same vacinity. I got NO tugs with the X Rap. The Gulp Alive was rediculous. I got a good work out just trying to set the hook everytime trash fish and game fish took a nibble. Don't get me wrong, I will still toss my XRaps but I think I will reserve them for my redfish hunts. This soft plastic also tears very easy. Don't fret! Gulp Alive will still hook flounder without tails and parts of the body. Don't throw it away till you have nothing. I'm serious! This stuff is a fishing miracle."

UNREAL,September 2, 2007
By REDNEBfrom East, NC
"I have started fishing with gulp alive and I wouldnt trade it for anything. I have landed about every fish with this stuff. I use the white pogies this time of year and the white shrimp. Pogies I like when there is alot of stumps because I can keep it up unlike the shrimp. I have landed some big puppy drum on this bait for my area. Highly recommend this expensive bait."
