"Kayak fishing the Sound side of the NC Outer Banks I threw everything at the fish, nothing was working until I tried the Gulp Shrimp. Every cast was either a hit or a fish on. I used the variety pack and the fish did not care about the color. Caught Drum and Flounder all day. A word of advice, bring lots of them with you as after three or four hits there is nothing left of the shrimp to use"

"This bait may be alittle expensive but it will always catch fish, I perfer other baits, partially due to the price of this bait, but is nothing else is work I pull out my Gulp Alive and I catch fish, This will work all day long even in the middle of the afternoon.
P.S. the bait "bucket" that is come sin leak so have some tupperware ready when you buy the Gulp Alive and switch containers."

"There are only two things I really like about saltwater fishing. Number one, it's fishing. Number two, now Gulp! Alive gives me a real alternative to using live bait. I don't use live bait. At all. Ever. There's nothing worse than slinging money from your hook every few casts when your bait tears up, but you don't have that problem with these shrimp. They'll stay rigged up just like you put them on the hook, and I've found them to be just as effective as live bait, if not more so. It seems like a lot of money to pay for a small bucket of artificial bait, but you'll save a lot more in the long run due to the durability of Gulp! products vs. live bait."

Awesome bait, but THE LEAKS!!,March 22, 2009

"I really loved this bait when I used it, they were fairly durable, and the scent was great. I used it at the Florida Coast, and had lots of fish on them. The only thing about this bait is the LEAKS IN THE BUCKET! For this reason and this reason only, I feel like giving it four stars is generous. I read reviews saying the bucket leaks, but I felt like it was certainly worth it for its fish catching ability. I really had no idea how bad the leaks actually were. It was awful. No matter how hard I screwed the lid on the bucket, the GULP! solution spilled on everything near it, including my kayak, tackle bag, and back of my car. I don't think I even have to mention that the solution smells awful, and soon enough, almost all the GULP! solution was gone. This was a great bait, but I really can't believe Berkly hasn't fixed this problem, considering myself and all the other reviewers complaints."

"This could possibly be the best inshore artificial bait made. It will often work as well, and sometimes better than live shrimp. It definitely will stay on your hook better than the real thing. Depending on the fish, you may be able to use the same bait on mulitple fish. The only problem with this bait is that they will dry out quickly when removed from their container.(for instance when you pull up and move to another location) So keep the container closed and expect to change baits if you move very far. It's a small price to pay to always have an effective shrimp bait on hand."

"I am not a professional fisherman, I bought this product for two reason one because I hate to buy fresh bait every time I go fishing, and second I was looking for a biodegradable bait. today I went fishing with my four year old son, and we never catch any big fish we always get small snappers BUT!! today on my second cast using this bait I caught a 5 pound flounder. First time ever!!! my son was so excited that he run home to tell mom!!! to bad that I had to release it because I didn't have a container to bring it home, because we never catch anything BIG!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! THIS PRODUCT, AND TOMORROW I AM GOING FISHING AGAIN WITH GULP BIODEGRADABLE SHRIMPS."

"I have been using the Gulps for a while now and now that the Gulp alives come into a container with the gulp juice it improves their performance from just soaking all the time! I wouldn't say they work better than live bait, but they deiffinitley come close and provide a good alternative if you don't have any live bait. I would advise into purchasing a tupperware container or a small bowl that will provide a good seal to keep the gulp juice from leaking out. The container that mine came in would leak out if tilted over. Most productive colors for me have been the new penny and the pearl white on a jig head fished on bottom sitting, jigging, or below a popping cork. Deffinitely worth the money! Tight Lines Everyone!"

"Name it, I have every bait you can think of. and this bait kills all my other ones. When my other lures haven't had a bite, I throw this shrimp in with a 1/4 leadhead and all of sudden i get bites after bites... I even beat all my friends and fellow saltwater fishers with their live bait... I catch alot of salt water bass, halibut..wow.."

"Berkley Gulp in a fantastic bait. For those of us like like to fish artificials and still catch just as many fish as with live bait, gulp is the bait of choice. It smells awful (in a good way) and is biodegradable. Put this on a popping cork, light jig head, or just a plain old worm hook and hold on! I favor the "natural" color for South East marshlands. Do be careful when transporting the tub around because the top does not have a very good seal."

"I use these for trout on the gulf coast and out fished everything else.I hang one under a poping cork with a flutter hook and it works great.Only prob is everything eats them so u spend alot of time setting the hook from pinfish hits...but still keeps u busy when the bite is slow lol."

"I have tried this bait in many situations with less than favorable results. Live baits have out fished it 30 to 1 and I've caught just as many fish on regular unscented baits as I have with this. I carry a pack just in case I run out of other baits but it's not top on my list as something that will put fish in the boat. I think it works well for some people and not others. Whatever you are comfortable with and works...use it. This to me is more hype than a fish catching lure."

"Year after year baits hit the market claiming to catch more fish. Some work and some don't. This stuff however is the real deal and works even better than the ads claim it does. I started using it the first season it hit the market under just the Gulp name. WOW, did it catch fish. My first time out I out caught other fishermen right next to me with them using live shrimp to my Gulp shrimp. The bucket stuff is even better this year soaking in that wonderful Gulp juice. I do recommend however getting a better storage container than the factory bucket. I use snap clamp top containers with a seal to be sure it never leaks. You can also mix colors in the containers with not concerns like color bleeding to worry about. I always have a Gulp container in the boat with me on every trip. Sometimes it's the product that saves the day when nothing else works."

"I was recently fishing in titusville, for specs, and nothing was working. Until i tried the gulp alive shrimp. I rigged this below a popping cork and right after the cork hit the water it dissapeared! I had just reeled in a gator trout, so i gave my fishing buddy some and the same result. After a little while the flavor ran out so all i had to do was dip it back in the container, cast it back out, and get more trout."
