Would like a dozen more,November 8, 2009

Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money Disadvantages: sd card a little hard to remove
"I am a president of a hunting club in alabama and between me and the other members we have a total of 6 moultrie cameras. 4 of them are I40's and two of them are I60's. We plan to buy 2 more this month as our club is more than pleased with them. The only problem we have had with them is the LCD going out, but Moultrie replaced them for free and in a fairly short period of time"

thought I loved them,October 28, 2009

"I bought 2 of these last year and LOVED them for almost a year. Great battery life, etc. Then about 9 month in to it, both began to have digital display problems (going out). I have had to send 4 different cameras back for replacement. Will not buy again as I again await 2 more to be repaired."

Good Camera,October 23, 2009
By RUTnSTRUTfrom NE Missouri
Advantages: Durability, Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money Disadvantages: big heavy
"I bought one of these after taking a Cuddeback IR back. I also own a M40 with flash that works great so that's why I decided to go with this model. The things I like are the many options it has. Multishot option, delay between pics, photo ID, IR aim test and laser aim,... Cuddeback didn't have any of these except for an IR motion test mode. The Moultrie camera seems to capture movement well. I also tried the video mode for the first time and that is really cool. The Cuddeback doesn't have that either. The things I don't like is that the Moultrie cameras are big and bulky compared to the Cuddeback. The shutter also makes some sound that the deer seem to be noticing on my pictures. A lot of the deer seem to be looking right at the camera in my photos. I do get multiple pics of them so it doesn't seem to bother them much. So far I'm pleased with the purchase."

NO GOOD,September 17, 2009
By bowhunter10from U.P., MI
Disadvantages: Performance, Quality, infrared must mean no color pictures
"I bought this camera this spring and set it up in the woods. I have had it out all summer and have gotten about 20 color pictures and hundreds of black and white pictures. If the camera isn't set up in the middle of a field then you won't get color pictures!
Called Moultrie approximatly 10 times throughtout the summer and always a wait of 30 minutes or more. Tried asking them a question on their website and no reply. THIS CAMERA IS A WASTE OF MONEY. Trigger speed is slow, many blank pictures. Makes noise and a flash in infrared mode. The only good thing about it is that the same batteries have lasted me all summer."

"2 years ago i purchased 2 of these IR40's and was pleased right off. I learned and corrected the grey imaging issue by facing the camera's north or south which is not a problem due to the apparent abundance of trees in the woods. The battery life is excellent lasting me 6-8 months on 6 D cell batteries with 1000+ pics per month being taken. The shudder does make some noise but i have many good deer who just look at it and keep eating. The only real issue I've had is the screens going out after about a year or so. I sent the camera back to Moultrie and they replaced the screen at no cost to me...just the inconvenience of shipping and not having my camera out in the woods for 2 weeks. The straps stay in the box as it gets thrown away. I use stretchable cords as per the different size tree i am attaching to. Another issue i had early on that some folks think is a camera problem is the SD card lock will be engaged and the camera will not function. Simply take the card out and see that the lock slide is not engaged and reinsert the card. I now own 5 of these cameras, 3 of which have been sent back for new screens. I am about to purchase another one later this month. I've owned Cuddeback (will never own again) and Wildview. The Cuddeback IR that came out 3 years ago lasted me 7 months and then just quit. I sent it back and they said i must've dropped it hard and wouldn't fix it so that was $475 down the drain...however while it did work it took great pictures. The Wildview just doesn't have the shutter speed desired for trail use. For the money this IR40 is the best buy out there. I haven't gotten the IR50 or 60 because i haven't had the need for the higher megapixel (the higher the MP the larger you can expand the image on your computer without distorting the image) so unless your making 8x10's of your pics the IR40 should be good. One other great thing about this camera is the ease of programming and you have all of the pic info on the pic itself. In the field it takes me 1 minute to swap cards and get it set back up. I use 2GB cards and they generally don't fill up in one month. I would also recommend not aiming any camera in a direction of swaying grass and limbs as this will trigger a lot of pictures of nothing and make you think its just a slow shutter speed."

"I was recently thinking about buying another I-40 game camera.Got on the computer and WOW I couldn,t believe some of the reviews.I bought one of these cameras 3 years ago and have had no problems at all.The sd card is a little hard to get to but not impossible.I had read earlier reviews about the strap clips breaking before I bought mine so I have been careful and didn,t try and snatch on them too hard, just pull them snug. They still work fine.Battery life is excellent, great daytime and good night time photos.I have taken thousands of pictures with this one camera.I couldn,t be happier with this camera but I guess that is the way electronic gizmos go,you get some that work great and some that seem to have problems right out of the box.Just checked mine again today, still working and lots of pics.Hope my next one works as good."

Junk,September 4, 2009
By MikeVSfrom PA
Advantages: none Disadvantages: Difficult to use, Durability, Performance, Quality, spotty performance, cheap construction when compared to other camera's
"II could write a 3 page report on this camera and other Moultrie's I owned. I read many good reviews about this camera so maybe I'm the exception. But I've also had many issues with other Moultrie cameras. From reading reviews of other cameras I get the feel the game cam market and products aren't the most reliable products in the market place. With that said I wanted to give Moultrie the benefit of the doubt and purchase this camera after talking to their technical people based on my other cameras issues. By the way due to their lack of knowledge had me buy additional brands of SD cards that I didn’t need and ended up not correcting the issue. Bottom line I'm very dissatisfied with the response from customer service at Moultrie. They boost they have the best warranty but most likely you’ll need it . In my opinion the best cameras for the buck are Cuddeback and the Bushnell’s. No ones trigger speed is even close to the Cuddebacks."

"Bought this camera for the IR feature. Had several big bucks spook during night pics & video due to the sound the shutter makes. Deer are looking at the camera during all pictures day or night due to shutter sound. LCD screen went blank after 1 yr. and am now unable to change the settings. Battery life was good and daytime picture quality was good. Overall the camera actually hurt deer hunting opportunities."

"i have several types of cameras and i keep going back to moultrie. It's an easy to use camera that takes good pictures. Battery life for me last more than a month or longer. It a durable cameras, mine cameras take a beating. You can feel the qualty difference. Pick up some on the camera and you can tell the cameras are cheap. I tried a different brand this past weekend and it's back at the store. I almost made it from the truck to the blind before breaking."

Disappointed,July 23, 2009
By krisbfrom ontario
Advantages: Ease of use Disadvantages: Durability, Performance, Quality
"I think for $200 it’s a poorly made camera the sd card is imposible to take out with my fingers. At home I ask my 7 year old and in the woods I have to carry a pair of pliers. The strap looks so flimsy that I’m afraid to use it. When I tested it on my dog in the garage the pictures turned out pitch black(turns out the infrared leds did not work) got another one but decided that I want my gear to last and will return and look for something more durable. After all it’s not going to be mounted in my house but in the woods. And without camouflage it stands out and a good chance you’ll have it stole. No security code on it."

"I bought 2 of these cameras based on the reviews. I put them out April 4th and checked on them on June 23rd. I had 1300 pictures on one and 900 on the other, both had great quality on the photos. Battery life still had 70 percent life left on it. I will definitely buy more of these cameras, they are the best product for the money."

"This product is the best a money can buy. I have tried Steath Cam, Cuddleback, Wildview in both film, with flash or infared. This cam is amazing. It takes awesome day and night pictures. I have recently purchased 3 more and they are out in the field as we speak. Battery life is outstanding even in the winter for use up here in Alberta, Canada. And with the purchase of a 12Volt battery. I never have to worry about the battery all summer. I have included 2 images for comparison on my review"

"I own a I-40 and a I-60, and these cameras take great pics day and night! The batteries last for months and the set up is easy. Save your time looking for other cameras, this is the product your looking for to make your scouting easier! I purchased the tree hooks to make mounting the units a bit easier, and make sure not to face the camera into the sun or you will get some white out shots. This product comes highly recomended!"

"I bought one of these cameras, tried it for two weeks and then actually bought a second one. I've had deer shy away from my older flash trail cameras so I was naturally very happy to see that they didn't seem to react to the infra-red night light. Daytime pictures were great and nighttime pictures are very good, too."

"I got this camera about a week and half ago. Ive been pretty cautious as to what camera i invest in due to the fact that im a college student and dont have the extra money to waste if i buy a bad product. With that said i read a bunch of the reviews and it seemed to me that this was the camera for the job. Once i purchased it, i went straight to work on testing it. I was very impressed to say the least! I set it up in my backyard and had it take some pictures and videos of the dogs running around. Its trigger time was good, and the picture quality was even better. The memory filled up fast with out an sd card, but once i purchased one, it allowed me around 2000 pictuers in the enhanced mode. I really like the handheld mode because it allows me to take pictures as if it were a regular camera. The only pictures i have taken with it in the woods so far have been in handheld mode, and they turned out clear as a whistle. I posted a couple pictures i took of my new foodplot in the handheld mode, and cant wait to check what it took from this week at my new feeder location. The only thing that is a little bit of a downfall on this camera, is the sound that the shutter makes when it takes pictures during the daytime (for this reason i would have given it a 4.5). But i dont believe that it's even loud enough to spook the deer. Overall i think that this is a great camera for the money, and would definently recomend it to any other hunters in the market."
