Can't beat an Ugly Stick!, November 3, 2009
By gotabite from Greensboro, NC

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: none

"There are a lot more expensive rods on the market that claim to be Great. But why spend all of that money, when you can by an Ugly Stick for less. I use them in fresh and salt water.............never had one to break on me yet. I've been using them for over 7 years now."

Disadvantages: can't take public transportation with it lol

"I recently bought the 7' one piece MH and couldn't be happier with my choice. The rod is powerful yet sensitive enough to notice slight action. The guides are strong and the handle is the perfect length.

I enjoyed a week of flathead fishing with it on the Allegheny River starting the day i bought it and love the way it handled the big boys. This will be my flathead rod of choice for sometime i am sure.

My Fishing Pole, July 8, 2009
By Anonymous from Steubenville, Ohio

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
Disadvantages: i was stupid and losy my pole

"I loved the pole. If you are going to use it secure the pole after casting. A Catfish took my brand new pole the first day I used it. Oh I guess I am out $100.00. Stupid Ron."

good stuff, May 17, 2009
By yodaofbass from Madison WI

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Value for money

"As a guy on a budget as well as anyone else wanting quality stuff without the hefty price tag. This is a good rod for what your buying, it can withstand those big cats. as well as other applications like muskies and pikes. I have it in my arsenal of musky and cat collections of tools. I really cant say anything bad about it.

For what your paying your getting a good, quality rod.

Great, June 25, 2008
By carpman from Conyers, Ga

"This pole is awesome, I went to Santee Cooper in SC, and it got me a couple 25 lb or better flathead cats. I would recommend this rod to anybody. I have a shimano stridex on it, and it is my best catfish combo. I have like 30 combos for different fish, and i have to say only my bass and carp combos are better."

sensitive, flexible rod, April 20, 2008
By catmac

"i bought two of these 7 foot medium action rods two years ago and they are still very flexible and durable. the only thing i don't get is that the glow guides don't glow, but that doesn't really matter because these rods are white and are easy to see in the dark. i can imagine these rods are well capable of landing big cats over 50 lbs. i have caught many big channel and blue cats over 10 lbs. i love how the ugly stiks have stronger guides than most rods. i recommend this product to any serious cat fisherman and people who want to find a great rod for an amazing value. i am going to buy two ambassadeur 6000 reels i think they will go great with these rods."

great catfish rod, March 4, 2008
By preachersteve from Upstate South Carolina

"I own four of the 7 foot Ugly Cat rods. I use them on a weekly basis to drift fish for big cats with no problems ever. I have caught big blues up to 42 pounds on these rods. I highly recomend them.

The ads showing them bent double must be true, the 42 pounder had mine bent like that while I was trying to boat it.

I will use nothing else for catfishing.

Excellent Rod, September 17, 2007
By Catfish Hunter from Acworth, GA

"Purchased this rod a couple of weeks ago, got the 8 foot model with glow in the dark guides. First time I used it I hooked into a monster cat off the Coosa river near Rome GA.
Rod still has the sensitivity to be bale to detect the slightest hit, while strong enough to manhandle a 20lb blue with ease. it felt like reeling in a bass on my other ugly stiks.
