"This is the cheaper version of the talking thermometer also from Oregon Scientific.
This unit works really well and is very accurate. The simplicity of this thermometer is amazing considering all the settings it has for all different meats and finish temperatures. I like that you can watch the foods internal temperature increase while the food is cooking, it makes it much easier to track the cooking time and estimate the finish time.
One word of advice, do not drop or place the probe on the cooking grate, since this will burn it out. It happened to me, and I had to order a new one. Surprisingly, they are not as cheap as I thought they would be.
It's funny that when I use mine, people are intrigued with it and many have never seen one. I consider it a must have and highly recommend it."

"I received this as a gift for Christmas. We BBQ on our new grill all year long, and this really comes in handy when the weather is cold or rainy and you don't want to check the meat. It works great, allowing you to do something else like fish, without the worry of burning the meat. Love It!"
