Simply Awesome,July 5, 2009
By chestnutfrom Georgia
Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design Disadvantages: a little costly
"I use the mossy back series for jig and worm fishing. The sensitivity of these rods are unmatched, unless you go with the GLX. You will catch more fish using these rods simply because you can feel the lightest pick up. These rods are really strong and the actions are great."

#1 Bass Rod,December 24, 2008
By SenkoMan1from Virginia
"If you are purchasing others, wake-up fellas. This rod is so light and sensitive that even with no weight (Senko) presentations you feel everything the bait is doing. On the bite you get at least a 2 second advantage because you can truely feel the fish pick up the bait... Awesome Rod a little expensive, but well worth it definately out performs the others. Will purchase 2 more this spring to complete my arsenal. I'm pairing them up with Shimano Castiac and Citica reels..."

Oh so sensitive.,April 20, 2008
By Daseinfrom Mobile, Alabama
"I purchased this rod several weeks ago and have already decided that I will never use another worm rod. I opted for the 7'1" MH (handle c). This is the perfect length for a worm rod allowing me to work my bait through the entire water column. This rod cast wonderfully, dropping even a weightless worm with no problem. Most of the time I fish a texas rigged culprit with a 1/16 oz weight and for this the mossyback performs effortlessly. Of course the latter is only one facet of this rod. The other being the hook set and the most important part of the gestalt " the fight". Like I stated in my other reviews, the Gloomis rods excel at the latter. When I first started using high end rods I noticed how much more control I had over the fish. Now that I use gloomis I loose less fish and enjoy the fight that much more. And to me that is what fishing is all about. If becoming a better angler is your goal nothing beats practice and will, but even if that sheer determination is present it must in the end be coupled with high quality gear. Buy one."

G Loomis Mossyback bcr804,November 23, 2007
By kayakbassinfrom Danbury, CT
"The best rod I ever had! Fished with St. Coix for years. Then I decided to try a g loomis to see how they were, I was very surprised at how light and sensitive they are. For the price. My casts are on target 95% of the time. The rear butt section is short enough that I can fish out of my kayak without jabbing myself in my ribs, and it's the right length to give me the amount of leverage needed to haul those 4+ lbrs out of the brush with no problem. With the steez baitcaster mounted on the rod in my opinion you can't go wrong."

Excellent Worm Rod,October 27, 2007
By Bassassinfrom Kansas City, KS
"My buddy's dad got new Ranger and they gave him 4 new GLX's with the boat. I tried one out when I was fishing down in the Ozarks and had to have one. After finding out what they cost I started fondling the less expensive Gloomis rods and let me tell you that the Mossyback is the way to go for the price. The GLX was a little lighter and I would have loved to have those Titanium guides but for the price, this is the way to go. If you have never fished a worm or jig with a Gloomis rod I recommend you don't. You won't have a clue what you are missing and you won't have to get one. It's really the only way to keep yourself from getting one."

Outstanding Rod,June 20, 2007
By pghbassanglerfrom Pittsburgh, PA
"I live in Pittsburgh, PA and fish the three rivers several times a week during spring/summer. This is by far the best rod I have ever used for finicky smallmouth. It is extremely sensitive, lightweight, and has a great backbone for setting the hook. Paired the 6'8" medium jig and worm rod with a BPS Extreme reel and I am extremely satisfied. Great for throwing lighter jigs and tubes."
