"I bought this reel just before heading out for a 5 day kayak fishing trip. I have used baitcasters before and am relatively proficient. However, casting is completely different when casting from a sitting position on the water. The reel does cast a mile with a heavy lure, however sitting in a kayak poses unusual obstacles. My medium heavy rod was one. Not enough flex in the tip. Casting over your head another; I usually cast from the side and below my waist. I think these are more operator issues. However, when the reel eventually became submerged, it did start making grinding noises as the lure approached the rod. Hopefully, with a thorough lubing and new, more flexible rod, things will improve. Overall I do like the reel."

"This reel looks good and casts great. I have a major problem with a angled piece of the reel that points down directly between my knuckle and first joint of my index finger. it jabs you in the finger on every single cast. I find myself trying to hold the reel differently to reduce the pain. If it wasn't there, I would probably purchase another. I actuallu think it is a great reel except for the non-ergonomic design."

"The spool brake adjustments tend to hang up and you need to blow out all the oil before you try and use this reel. There are better reels for 20 bucks more."

"I own 5 of these reels and cant say that i have a complaint yet. Overall - if you can pick this reel up on sale you can not beat the value. It offers 8 bearings like many of the more expensive models, casts a mile, is durable, and with basic maintenance (cleaning and grease) it will last for many years to come. The worm gear does sound louder than other reels I've owned but it doesn't seem to stop the fish from biting nor does it hinder your ability to reel in a big one. Pick one up and give it a shot. Don't forget to buy the Gear Guard just in case you run it over."

"I own 5 of these reels and one Browning Midas. Best reels I have ever used. Smooth, cast a mile, and overall just great. I have recently gotten two of my fishing buddies onto these reels and each of them now own about 5 of them. They like them just as much as I do. I notify them every time Basspro has these on sale and we all go out and get one more for the collection. Anyway, I would recommend this reel to anyone. Great job Browning"

"The Citori is one of the best I have ever used I would rate this reel higher my other reels which are Quntum Tour Editions and shimano Citicas. I use this reel for topwater in the california delta for big bass and huge stripers this reel exceeds my expectations of a browning reel. Ive caught many fish off this reel and have seen no sign of it breaking. This reel has a lot of drag power and a lot of line cap. I have caught fish on this reel from one pounders all the way up to a twelve pound bass. Overall great buy, looking forward to getting more soon."

"found this on sale at the store in denham springs and being a faithful shimano guy I was skeptical, needed a cheaper set up for saltwater use. I was impressed with how smooth the real was and casts very far but my first trip out fishing for speckled trout I fished in light rain for a few hours and when the reel got wet it made a growling noise when I reeled the bait in, still casted far, but the noise got irritating, when I dried up it was fine. I picked up my shimano calcutta and curado's during the rain and they do NOT make that noise when rained on like that. I will not ever buy another browning reel."

"I have one of these and it has done a great job. I fished at least a dozen tournaments with it last year and it performed pretty good. I have only one gripe. When you turn the handle there is a grind in the worm gear under the line guide. I have greased it numerous times. I even used the Quantam Hot Sauce and that didn't fix it. Other than that it has been a great reel. Long caster! Just a little rough on the worm gear."

"My mom gave me one of these for christmas and I could not be more pleased. I use it with braid on a 6'6" medium Team Allstar rod. Use it for crank baits like the XR50, Cordelle spot, and for all my mid depth crank baits. Casts Like a dream, reels them in with a good drag system. I have used it in four tournaments this year so far and no problems. Have a Medallion GT on the way as we speak and would recommend these reels to anyone. Keep them maintained properly and they will do you proud. I maintain all of my own reels and these are easy to clean, lubricate and reassemble. GREAT PRODUCT!!!!!!"

But overall this reel is very nice and handles well. it cast better than a lot of other reels i have, and has a very nice breaking system! i bought this when it was on sell so for the money it was a good buy, especially compared to a lot of the other products that are almost twice as much..."
