"this is the best reel ive ever used! Out of the box it is amazing, ive owned mine for 3 months and just used the cleaning kit w/ bearing grease.. this reel is insane... i have 3 rods with these reels and plan on getting 2 more rods and putting these reels on them."

Horrible for saltwater (i think),March 26, 2008

"I recently purchased this product from bass pro, It seemed to have high ratings at the time. I got the combo. If you look at the price te rod is junk for $130+ and the reel completly siezed up after one run from a bull red. cleaned it up really good with penn reel cleaner when i got home, 4 months later i put it back on the boat and when i got out there i casted and it stoped on the retrive! Very disatisified! I would have sent it in to get it fixed but i dont want it anymore anyway its junk. I highly recomend the shimano sahara for 40 dollars less it is a much better made reel."

"I bought this reel last summer to put put on my G-Loomis rod. I wanted a nice spinning reel to accompany my high end rod, and since it was on sale, it was an easy choice. Browning is a BPS product so I knew BPS would stand behind it. The reel is amazing. The 10 bearing system is super smooth. I haven't seen any other 10 bearing reels for this price. That's another advantage of BPS branded products, they cut out the middle man, allowing them to give you higher quality at a cheaper price. I have used this reel for a while now, and have caught largemouth at the lake, smallmouth in the streams, and sauger from the Ohio River. It is a great all around reel and a true pleasure to fish with. It casts like a dream and is full of power. Great reel at a great price, especially when it goes on sale."

Midas Spining Rell 2500,December 16, 2007

"I bought the midas 2500, last years model on sale for $79.99. It was the most expensive reel I had ever purchased. I mean why not, it was half price. The first time I took it out, I couldn't believe how far off shore my cast went. It was amazing. As far as the durability, so far, no problems and works properly evey cast. It feels great in your hand, very quite during the reel in and also looks great. The only thing I would have made different, would be that little finger clip on some so called "long casting and "quick cast" reels. It doesn't have one. So you need both hands to cast it. Other than that, I love it. Trust me, you will have no problem reeling in the big one, very strong and the 10 bearing system is sweet. I will definately buy another Browning reel. Maybe try their bait casters."

"Got one of these as a present. Within the first couple weeks of use the handle would not tighten properly and the reel started making grinding noises during the retrieve. Go ahead and mark me down as extremely dissatisfied with this product. The grinding noise implies some sort of defect. The loose handle appears to be poor construction. I have returned the reel to Bass Pro and am awaiting the replacement. If the second reel has any of the same problems as the first, then I am off Browning products forever."

"A few months ago I purchased 2 of last years model. One for myself and one for my brother . We are both very pleased at the workmanship , smooth operation of the reels. This is the finest reel I've ever used it's even better than the old Diawa Whiskers. I am pleased that Browning makes such a great product. This reel is somewhat lightweight, very sturdy, compact, casts awesome, a drag as smooth as an expensive baitcaster. This reel is built to last. Buy it try it!"
