Guides Weak, Eyelets pop,May 9, 2009
By GaZippomanfrom GA
Advantages: Performs well, Value for money Disadvantages: Durability
"I've owned 2 8' MH and 1 11' MH for 4 years now. While I'm very satisfied with their performance, I agree with many other of the reviews..the guides and eyelets are VERY weak. I've had 2 eyelets pop out of both of the 8' rods, and 1 on the 11'. And the guides bend VERY easily. I have to adjust them before every catfishing trip. I bought mine on sale for $29,99, so even with the guide problems, they are a great value"

Nice rod,April 1, 2009
By Mmaxwelfrom Taylor Mill, Ky.
"I bought this rod when they first came out. This is a good rod for catfishing, with alot of backbone. The only reason I gave it four stars is the eyes bend easy. Not sure about the new rods they came out with since. I still like them alot and would recommend them to any catfisherman."

best catfish rod made,March 14, 2009
By catdaddyfrom ohio
"I have 3 10ft. models that i have used for one year now and have yet to experience any problems. I have caught fish up to 76lbs. on them and no problems. I fish one to two times per weekend from April til October and have caught many fish over 50lbs. with them. In my opinion they are the best rods you can buy."

Great flathead rod,June 27, 2008
By TheRiVeRRATfrom Hamilton , OH
"I own a 7'6 heavy catmaxx rod and it is one of the best rods you will ever find for flatheads.it is very sturdy and has alot of eyes which makes ir perfect for hauling in big flathead cats. this rod teamed up with an abu garcia 6500c3 makes it in my opinion the best big cat combo on the market. It is an incredible deal! a great rod for a great price!"

excellent rod,April 28, 2008
By esotericdanfrom Fairborn, OH
"Theese rods provide the perfect balance of action and power to cast a great distance. I was very satisfied when I landed four ten pound plus cats in one night on them as well as several smaller ones. The white tip also helped me detect bites in low light conditions."

Good Hard Core Gear...,November 22, 2007
By squatchyfrom Kentucky Lake
"I bought one on a whim after handling it at a retail store. I now own 6 and am online ordering 6 more as I type this... if that isn't a statement to how I feel about these rods then I don't know what is. The only complaints I have are that the rubber butt is a little large and hard to get into and out of my Atwood rod holders, and same as above; the guides are a little flimsy. They seem to get bent up just riding around in my rod box. I currently have three 7.5 footers backed up with Ambassadeur 6500 C3 reels and three more 8 footers outfitted with the 7000 C3 reels for the heavier current days and larger baits... I also must mention they handle cold weather better than any rod I've used (they still bend with ice hanging off the guides, instead of breaking)."

By chasinbluesfrom ky
"these rod work good on fish of all size but they have a problem....the guides are very weak it seems i have to straighten them out ever outing as well as after fighting a big fish..ive had the inserts pop out on three that i have sitting in my garage corner.............. dont get me wrong they are good but would be great with some solid heavy stainless 1 piece eyes"

Super Cats,September 4, 2007
By mkearls
"I fish lakes where I know those huge Bluecats are. I never thought just a pole could make a difference. I decided to buy the cat maxx 11ft. This pole has amazing resistance, about a million eyelets, and an amazing grip. With this pole, I have now caught well over 100 fish over 25 pounds."

the best catfish rod ever,August 14, 2007
By mattfrom Gastonia
"Before i got my 7.5 ft heavy action catmaxx rod i used a 9 ft silstar catfish pro and there is a major difference in in the sturdiness i am able to cast farther because i can use a bigger weight and actually am able to swing it harder then i was able to with my 9 ft rod."
