Keep 'em Humping,September 29, 2009
By FIGJAMfrom Middle TN
Advantages: Performs well, Value for money
"I bought a bag of these because they were a tad cheaper than the Ribbitt frogs and I can honestly say that I do like these. They are a little tougher plastic than a Ribbitt but they still catch fish. If you want to soften them up leave them laying in the sun while you are fishing with one and the next ones will be softer. They do catch fish as I am now on my third bag of these. I like the green with red flakes and green with a yellow belly. good luck and tight lines to all."

Poor design,August 25, 2009
By Cypherfrom Toronto, Canada
"They catch bass, but there are definately better ones out there. I find the plastic is a bit harder than others, and the groove for the hook is a bit further back than I would want. You would need a 5/0-6/0 hook to fit it in that groove. The kicking action is similar to that of a Ribbit frog.
Id recommend the Stanley Ribbit Frog over this anyday."

My new favorite,February 6, 2009
By ManiacFishermanNGUfrom Springfield, MO
"If you have vegetation or ponds with frog population you must buy this bait! No exaggeration- One day on a small lake with hydrilla I caught 19 large mouth the smallest was 2lbs. 2 oz and the largest 6lbs 8oz. the green and yellow belly and green and pearl belly did the trick. Strong Plastics caught many fish on one bait. Once the nose was ripped apart i just hooked it by the belly didn't even run it through the nose and still caught fish. you will never find me without one in my box!"

Plastic a Bit Too hard,June 13, 2008
By bazingfrom Lake Scugog ON
"Good action in the water, bass like them its just hard to get a good hookset because of the plastic. I would recommend the Zoom toad its softer and has really good action. I use the white color in the pads."

Not as good as the Stanley Ribbitt,April 1, 2008
By SmallieHunter
"The Bass Pro Humpin' Toads come in a good selection of colors, and they will catch fish. Top-water frogs are a great technique, and if you are not using them, you are missing out on some great action. Although I like the action of the pigeon-toed legs, the plasitc seems to be a little to stiff, and the legs don't seem to kick as much as they should. I think this also contributes to the bait's tendancy to try to roll over on faster retrieves. I would recommend the Stanley Ribbitt over this frog (see my review). The Ribbitt has the same design with the legs, but its softer plastic seems to give it more action, and does not tend to roll over."

humpin' toads,March 8, 2008
By countryroadsfrom small town, wv
"these are really nice frogs. bps offers really good color schemes, and they fish rather easily. i've caught quite a few nice bass with these. if the plastic was just a tad bit softer, they would get five stars. i always rig these with my hook penetrating all the way through the frog, but i think the plastic is just a little too stiff to ensure a good hookset on every bite."

great purchase,March 7, 2008
By rayray68from texas
"this product is one of the best for top water or right below the surface fishing. The first time I used the frog caugt a 8.2 pound large mouth bass in the weeds. I was slow rolling it over a bed of weeds and pausing it for about 4 sec. that is when the big on bit."

Good Bait,November 7, 2007
By Andrew79from Racine Wisconsin
"The humpin toad creates increddible blow ups!!!! They are cheaper than most baits in this catagory as well. The only downside to this bait vs. some of the others is that they are not quite as soft. All told they are worth putting a few bags into your arsenal though."

Not too bad,October 21, 2007
By Big Tuna
"Because I am a bass fisherman, I have to have at least one of every bait I can find, and this is one of them. Looking to save a bit of money, I went with the BPS frog, and it worked well. The action is great on these, so is the durability, but the plastic is very firm. I was testing it on the local golf course, and had some very explosive top water action. The fish would hit it every few casts with the occasional dry spell, but the strike to hookup ratio was extremely low. The plastic is just too firm to get a good hook set, but I did have lots of hits. Try another brand."
