Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
"Made my purchase in 2003. Purchased co-pilot in 2004. I live on Lake Gaston in NC and also fish at Nags Head. I have given this motor a real test in the last six years. The only problem I ever had was a corrosion problem in a connector I had installed. The motor is bow mounted on a SeaPro 180CC and has been flawless."

"I use this trolling the shallows for reds and trout. I can run it from the remote when I am in the back on the poling platform when trying to cover distance quickly. The wireless features have performed better than I expected, and the speed and reliability of the turning motors is exceptional. It has been the envy of many other fisherman in every case. Best buy for me."

copilot trolling motor,July 15, 2007
By sarasota
"When minnkota first came out with the copilot I purchased a 55 lb thrust motor. It was a lemon. I thought, OK, new technology, in a few years it'll get worked out. Recently I bought another copilot, an 80 lb thrust motor. It was also a lemon. I've only heard bad news about this copilot version, and even the minnkota warranty service person here in town admits they are lemons, yet the customer service person I talked with at minnkota said she talks with 100 people a day and has never heard about any problems. Interestingly, when I first talked with her about the problem with the "80" she knew exactly what the problem was and then told me the part had to be backordered. No more minnkotas for me due to poor service, bad attitude, and not backing up their product. The $1100 motor I have now is worthless and only 7 months old."
