And the advanced Inertial Transfer Brake dual system uses both centrifugal and magnetic brakes to feather each cast perfectly. Versions available include: Super High Speed 7.1:1, High Speed 6.4:1, and Standard 5.4:1 retrieve all available in both right and left- hand models. "I first bought one of these reels about 3 years ago after buying a pro qualifier,and now I own several, and fixin to buy another..The extreme reels are tough and durable, I have not done anything to these reels except oil them about twice a year, and they go through alot of use. I would not give $5 for another pro qualifier.. GREAT reel bps"

"This reel is durable, reels smooth, casts amazing, and is low price. One of my friends got me in to this and than God he did. He has had three of these for i think about two years now and no problems. He hasnt oiled once, and takes them out ocean fishing. he just rinses them off with a hose. I have had mine for a couple days and looks good. its winter but i just flip it around the lake for fun."

"I bought the Bass Pro Shope Extreme baitcasting rod and reel combo and i love it. It was the first baitcaster that i had ever owned and i am completely satisfied. Although i birdnested it many times when i first used it, after a good day of fishing and practice i didnt have any more problems. I would recommend this reel to anyone It casts and reels very smooth and i have caught hundreds of fish on it. EXCELLENT REEL!!!!!"

"I Have Purchased 2 of these reels and have returned both of them! The first one something broke internally and the second I believe actually scared fish away with all the noise it made-no matter how much i oiled or greased it it would not stop squeling! Not to mention the fact that it doesnt cast worth a flip! I have spent the majority of a day fishing messing with these reels,and when they take away from actually fishing they arent worth having.I have owned several different brands of reels and from what ive seen Quantum and Shimano are the only two reel manufacturers."

"I have the 05 and 10 models of this reel and use them each week for 8-12 hours of active bass fishing. They both provide trouble free service and can really take a workout. "Seems to be very prone to backlashes. I've been able to set up all my other reels with no problem except for this one and the bionic. I'll probably save this one for my son for when he gets old enough to go out on the water with me. Kids can usually dumb stuff down for us and make things work properly."

"WOW! I don't know where to start. Well, I'll start like this... The BassPro Shops 'Extreme' series baitcast reel is probably THE best value for the cost/performance ratio in the Bass Anglers Industry,PERIOD! I have been a Bass Angler all my life. From the banks until I recently purchased an 18ft. Bass boat, and in the beginning, I fished both spinning, and baitcast reels, but now use only low profile baitcast reels. I have a few spinning outfits, but rarely use them. I take apart, clean, and lube ALL my reels, sometimes just to see what makes them tick, and own 15-20 at any given time. So, I consider myself very knowledgeable when it comes to these reels. Well, the BPS 'Extreme' series reels utilize cutting edge technology, employing some of the best components available. This reel has features, and controls I only wish some of my $200 & up reels had! Like THREE different braking/anti backlash controls..cintrifugal, magnetic, and mechanical! This is unheard of in a $79.00 reel! Super low profile design fits into the palm of any angler's hand like a glove. Unbelievable casting distance and accuracy, regardless of line type. And the gorgeous 'British Racing Green' color makes it a perfect match for the 'Extreme' rod series casting rods! I put mine on a 7ft. telescopic split handle (stretches to almost 8ft.!) and I can launch a 1/2oz. dressed weedless jig easily 100 feet, with NO fear of backlash! I have the high speed model. I can tell you, this reel is a fine combination of features taken from 2 or 3 other BPS model reels, and packed into a money saving, benefit loaded bait caster. I bought a Diawa Pro Caster today, put it on a rod, and didn't even have to spool it up, when I realized I should have bought myself another model of this reel. Well, tomorrow, the Diawa goes back, and I'm getting another 'Extreme' reel! I'm going to get the slowest speed model and use it for Crankin' med.-deep diving 'XPS' series crank baits! I'm SURE you'll enjoy yours as much as I do mine! I don't get paid to try so many different reels/rods (that would be GREAT!) but I just do it to help fellow angler's save time, money, and frustration on more expensive, lower quality products."

"This was really my first baitcaster i got with a gift card my sister had sent so I thought it was cheep enuff and I wasn't sure about baitcasters to begin with, I had used a few and it had always turned out bad for me, But it has been a nice reel for me to learn on and I really like to use it and I'm not scared to cast with a baitcaster any more. I keep heavy line on and it works great"
