The Bigfoot Frog’s oversized feet really cause a stir, but here's the kicker -- the Bigfoot Frog Soft Bait floats so you can stop and spend more time around weeds, stumps, and brush where the big bass dwell. Or, retrieve the Bigfoot Frog in short strokes between pauses to attract more fish with a big-time bubbling action.

Overall good,December 25, 2008
By Luist4498from Polk County, FL
"This is an overall good frog lure. You have to reel it kind of fast to get the legs to kick though. I use a twitch/stop retrieve in and around cover instead."

Excellent topwater,August 12, 2008
By BASSFISHINGMASTERMIKEYfrom sterling heights Michigan
"I recently bought two of these frogs in Pumkinseed and White, and I think that they work much better than any other frog on the market. The things that I like most about these frogs are the paddle feet, quality hooks, and soft body for easy hookups. The best techniques that I have found are casting it all the way to the bank and then slowly reeling and twitching it all the way back to the boat. I have also had no problems with the frog filling up with water. Plus the price is much better on this frog than other frogs of the same quality.
Overall this is an excellent frog, I would recommend this frog to everyone."

Disappointing addition to the scum frog lineup,June 30, 2008
By AggieReelGuyfrom College Station, TX
"I fished the original scum frogs with a lot of success. I had hoped these would be a great way to replace the soft plastic frogs like Zoom Hrny Toads and Ribbits. This lure, while ok, takes too fast of a retrieve to get the legs to kick like the soft plastic lures. It is adequate as a steady retrieve buzzbait or when twitched, but can't be fished as slow as true soft plastic frogs. Overall I was disappointed in this lure."

Froggie,June 18, 2008
By AllOutdoorsfrom TN
"This lure works well for what it is designed to do. My frogs have remained durable and I have had no issues with legs breaking off. I recommend using braid to get a good hookset. I have lost several good fish with the line breaking at the knot. Further study reveals a burr on both sides of the eye which eats away at your line. I am not a fan of snap swivels, but in this case they serve a purpose and are a must have for this bait until they can make some with smooth round eyes."

bigfoot! big bass!,June 2, 2008
By gerberfrom cincinnati ohio
"big foot scum frogs are a great lure i dont see how you could go wrong with these the feet paddle like a buzz bait driving big largemouth wild!! first time i threw it into mossy cover i landed a 3 pounder and have caught as big as a 6 pounder on them.A great topwater that looks like a frog and acts like a buzz bait that can't sink or get caught up in the weeds.if you like topwater fishing for big bass give this lure a try your garented a fish!!"

Casts Okay,March 18, 2008
By Ghostfrom Indiana
"It's 3/8 oz & it casts okay. It catches the wind too easily. It's holow & needs more weight to make it cast good. Best to use spinning rear instead of baitcasting.
The legs puts out alot of commotion when steady retrieved. It also does well when twitched. The body is very soft so making good hookset no problem. The hooks could use a bit of shapening though.
I add a worm rattle inside the body, so it has more noise.
The Bigfoot Frog if not moving in the water will fill up w/ water quickly, especially if you are twitching it.
If they can improve the Bigfoot Frog so it casts better than this would be a great frog lure."

Great all around lure!!!,March 4, 2008
By DTfisher
"I've gone through a few of these but I can say that this lure can be used in many ways. I've used it as a buzzbait (so many attacks on this little guys!). As a buzzbait, you can pause & retreive it as well!! But not only that but you can use it as a popper! This got the most amount of strikes!!! Bass & pickerel love this!!!"

Don't let your family and friends use it,March 4, 2008
By Hivenfrom Minnesota
"I bought 2 of these and we used them in northern Minnesota in August 2007. It was hot and the weeds were up. We fished around and in lily pads, mornings and afternoons. I made one crucial mistake, I tied it on my girlfriends rig and let her fish it first. The first session she boated 2 largemouth in the 5.5-6.3lbs range, awesome for that area, plus 4 others that were 3.5-4.0lbs, and 1 pike over 9lbs. The bigger fish triggered on it. Fished with 15lb mono and spinning reel. She used the 01 color. I later used the frog along bogs, under cut banks, beaver houses and in reeds. Do not give up until the lure is in the boat, and do not leave resting in water unattended!"

Great Action,January 19, 2008
By bigeinscfrom South Carolina
"These frogs have a very unique action. It's like a buzz bait frog combo. I would have give it 5 stars but the legs have a tendency to be torn out of the body or torn in to completly. It's a small price to pay though for the quality of fish this frog catches."

My favorite bait,November 27, 2007

"I love this bait! While it has a major design flaw causing low fish to bait ratio, I have had more fun fishing with this bait than any other. Very few local bait shops seem to carry them so when I see them I pick up a couple. I have an insert filled with just these frogs. My biggest so far was 7.5 lbs back in August 2007 - see pic."

good and bad,August 7, 2007
By Gargoyle
"True, durability is not great on this lure. However, it is usually good for several fish before being damaged. I have successfully replaced lost legs with buzz frog legs (as suggested by another reviewer) but it is a bit of a hassle and frequently when the legs are torn out the lure body is slightly or severely torn and replacing the legs is a short term or futile remedy. The lure would be better with a stronger body/leg connection - perhaps a slightly larger retainer bulge on the leg portion and/or reinforced (rolled?) openings on the body portion. If hit by larger or aggressive fish, the legs are not pulled on and the lure is not damaged. Regardless, it is the most effective lure I've found for areas with a lot of floating debris, patchy weed areas and heavy weeds and draws a lot of strikes. It is equally effective in clear surface areas but in those areas I typically use other lures less easily damaged. There is definitely a trade-off here involving expense of fairly frequent replacement versus improved effectiveness fishing cluttered surfaces. This lure has exceptional potential if the manufacturer makes a few minor improvements."

Leg Replacement,July 30, 2007
By Louie
"I had the same problem with the legs tearing off. They can easily be replaced with the legs of a used toad. Just rip the legs off of your toad and run them through the hole in the back of the frog with a pair of forceps. I like to use YUM Buzzfrogs because their legs are very sturdy. This gives you a wider range of color patterns as well."

Excitement in green,July 12, 2007

"I got the most exciting hits of my latest fishing trip using this frog. I had two large bass come all the way out of the water when hitting this lure. I had no durability issues as stated in the other reviews. Maybe they're fishing for something other than bass."

good/bad,July 1, 2007
By daiwa14
"This lure is OK, just OK ,not awesome not terrible. It has almost no durability but it gets hit a lot . When I fish with it, I put 2 spinnerbait trailer hooks on the stock frog hooks. this makes the legs sink a little in the water when at rest, so most fish just go for the legs. i would also recommend dipping the foot of the lure in SPIKE IT bait dye , but just the end of the foot because the scent will overwhelm the fish and he will know that it is fake if you dye the whole foot."

Buying More,June 25, 2007
By Wis. Basser
"I caught more bass fishing moss beds then I ever have. On 1 trip I landed 15 bass between 2-5 lbs. Granted the body is weak, the legs hard to readjust, Over all I am very pleased. I am buying more to replace the one I wore out."
