Six Rivers Rod,October 31, 2009

"Please read my other review of the combo I put together! I matched this rod with the Daiwa Exceler 3000 model with #8 P-line. Casting is very far and smooth with this combo. A great all-around combo! The 8'6" length takes some getting used to. When you cast far pass your buddies to the honey hole, you will appreicate the extra length. Well made rod that even with the med.hvy. you can fish all day and not feel the heft! I am multi-species fresh-water fisherman and have used it for bass, striped bass catfish, smallmouth, pike, it handles all equally! Do you self a favor a try this combo before they raise the price on this rod. I bought it at $69.00 last year. The Daiwa reel mentioned in the review has already been raised $10.00 don't sleep on this one."

"this is my first "species specific" rod and i'm pleased with it. i have the telescopic butt which i find helps in a long fight with these big fish. it's a little awkward casting, but great in a fight."

excellent...,September 18, 2007

""I have the 17#, 8'6" casting and 8'6" 12#-rated spinning.
The 12# 8'6" spinning rod outcasts and outfishes my 8'6" 20# Shakespeare Ugly Lite using the same reels and lines, an Okuma Expior 50 with 20# Cajun Cast & SW Fusion and a Pfleuger President 40 with PLine CX Prem 12# moss green & 12# Cajun Cast.
The 6 Rivers is lighter, better balanced, more precise, more sensitive and has more backbone on the cast, even with its lighter line-rating. Accuracy is much better whether long or short casting
I also really like the reverse beavertail handle which fits very well and is warm & comfortable to hold. The cork quality is very good. It is a very nice handling, exciting rod for panfry to freezer-quality fish.
On the casting rod, the reel is a Diawa Millionaire CV-Z 253, 17# Trilene XL.
Accuracy of the rod is excellent, feel, sensitivity, strength are very good. It has yet to catch its intended steelhead, but 12 Coho salmon are notched on the handle giving a very exciting ride.
Casting action is smooth, with enough backbone to add a boost to your longer casts.
Rated at 1/4 oz+, it easily casts 1/4 oz jigs over 100'. With 3/8 oz+ you'll clear the other river bank. On short casts to closer targets, even 3/16 oz is well-handled and goes right where you want it.
I strongly suggest these rods as a very good choice and believe all fishers will enjoy using them as I do. Even better, they are value-priced.
Cheers!""

"I spent three months looking for a salmon rod and finaly decided to go for this one, I do not regret buying it. After spending 5 days up state NY fishing for 30lbs + kings, cohos, steelheads and more, the rod was able to handle the fish with no problem. I would recomended anyone to buy this product and with a good spinning reel you are armed to the teeth.
