Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well
"I think most people use these to catch live bait, but I threw one off the Ocean View pier in Norfolk, VA and caught lots of small (eating size) bluefish. Pulled 'em straight out of a hungry school beneath the bright lights off the end of the pier. The main downside is that the rig gets pretty tangled if you don't store it properly."

Great for catching Freshwater Herring,

"I had used these in Destin to catch blue runners.I also had read that an angler could use these to catch Skipjack or Blueback herring and then use the herring for Striper bait or cut them up for catfish bait. Well I bought 3 and went down below Old Hickory dam in Hendersonville and proceeded to catch enough herring that I had enough catfish bait for a month. I can even catch one or two and start fishing around the turbines and catch some cats while I am messing with catching more bait. Some friends and I are planning on catching enough bait this spring to freeze for the rest of the year. For some reason if you freeze and unthaw a shad it turns mushy. If you cut up, freeze, and thaw out a herring it stays firm. So if you need to catch a mess of river herring for bait this is your ticket. Have fun and this is a good way to get kids into fishing is to catch your bait."

great for yellow jack,

"i was pier fishing in florida and i tried this out immediatly i caught four yellow jack in one cast very fun to use all the fish together put up a really good fight"
