"This is the third one of these I have owned. The only complaint I have is they don't seem to be durable enough to last over 3 to 5 years. I don't know why but after awhile they become hard to twist and extend or twist and collapse. I keep one in my boat because they are invalueable for pushing away from obstacles that will scratch or ding your boat. They are also great for retriving things out of the water, or pulling yourself to a dock or other tie-off."

Disadvantages: Performance, Quality, Appearance, not suitable for use areound water
"Pole broke after a couple of uses - Likewise I found that If exposed to water (pretty common on a boat) the pole's sections become water-logged, as there are no drain holes. The sections of tube tarnish easily in FRESH WATER, making the device look terrible. I would not recommend this product!"

"Have a 25 foot pontoon. We use the hook to pull up to the dock. I'm on my second one this season. The first boat hook just came apart and with the second the hook broke off. I was able to drill the hook and reattach with a bolt. It is difficult at times to quickly twist and extend it so I leave it 1/2 extended at all times. With all that said it is a very handy item to have on the boat!"

Advantages: Ease of use, Value for money
"this product is a must for any angler. handy as a pocket on a shirt, came in extremely handy in lake fork for several different things. for positioning the boat on a big bedded bass, or retrieving a lure from the bottom of a stump. i use it only as a push pull pole and will not be on the water without it!!"
