Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well Disadvantages: Durability
"I was fishing off the coast of Ft lauderdale on a party boat. The minute I reached my fishing grounds the fishes was all over the lures. The sad part is whatever bit my lure (I did not get a chance to see it) bit my line and took off withh the lures and I did not get a chance to use them multiple times. I lost about 4 of these lures. Kings love these lures. My friends pack alot of these lures and trust me you are gonna catch big fish"

Advantages: Ease of use, Performs well, Quality, Style/Design, Value for money
"In my experience, these jigs out-fish the expensive shimano jigs.
The paint may not last as long, but the fish don't care - look at the picture; thats just one of the many fish I caught that day using the 3 1/2 oz. sardine color. Actually it wasn't even sardine color any more, It was just bare metal, and it STILL outfished my dad using a shimano butterfly!
The only thing I would recommend is taking off one of the stingers. Theres no need for two, just keep the other for a backup, or swap out entirely for wire, for when that smoker king takes off with just the hook, as that has happened before.
From AJ's and kings, down to the bottom hugging grouper, these jigs will catch them. Paint, or no paint
I've got a paycheck or two dedicated to these jigs, next time I find myself at a basspro."

"you name it, it will catch it . fished offshore gulf of mexico may 09 landed 52# wahoo, bk fin tunas , & ajs till my arms wore out . finish is not durable but ajs still hit the bare metal . you will loose a number of jigs to the toothy ones, so plan on it . cost of jigs to trip cost ,well worth the catch results ."

46 lb cod from 300 ft
"These jigs looked amazing so I bought a few (10). My first day on the water with these jigs was a bitter sweet day. I was fishing a rocky bottom for cod and after an hour, the finish on the jig was almost gone!. These jigs catch fish but have a very weak finish. Later on the same day I jigged up some toothy Bluefish that chewed the paint right off. I would spend the extra few $$ and buy the real thing, A Shimano Butterfly Jig."

This is a must have,September 28, 2008
By Anonymousfrom Baltimore
"I used a 2oz freestyle rig to catch bluefish on the bottom. A group of us went charter fishing on the Chesapeake Bay near Kent Island. We went livelineing for blue fish. After catching 70 blues and running out bait(300 live spot), we started to clean up.I hada Free Style Jig on a rod with a metal leader. I thought for the fun of it I would use it. I let the lure hit bottom and jigged it up and down three times and a blue was on. I did this once more with the same result. I will now always have a couple of these jigs with me."

Looks good but doesnt hold up.,July 27, 2008
By jigchunkerfrom Ball, La.
"i purchased 3 of these in the Mackrel color to try for the Tarpon Rodeo in Grande Isle this weekend. I did catch some Bonita, King Mackrel, and a couple of Reef Donkeys. These jigs look good but the paint doesnt hold up very long at all. After catching a few big fish on these i had to swap to a new one because the paint would come off. At 15 bucks a piece i would expect them to last longer."

Two fish one jig,May 30, 2008
By WayWardWind2from Pensacola, FL
"Great jig, while I am a little cautious of store branded products offshore angler is one that I have confidence in. Great jig, even better value these are almost a straight copy of the Daiwa saltiga jigs for ½ the price. They do have a tendency to come up with a fish on each hook."

Knock Down Knock Out,March 6, 2008
By OSAFJfrom South Louisiana
"Yesterday, I took this Offshore Angler Freestyle Jig for a boat ride in the Gulf of Mexico to see if the reviews I read were accurate. First cast drop - wham! nice amberjack; and another; then two nice grouper. This lure is deadly! I'm ordering several more today. Sadly the fun ended when a monster from the deep wanted to take the jig home - and did."

Great For Freshwater Too,January 10, 2008
By sitrucfrom Mohave County, Arizona
"I have used these with great success jigging the deep water areas of Lake Meade. They have produced well on stripers as well as largemouth, especially around the 50 to 70 foot range in December and January. They are excellent quality for the price and they produce well too. I have used many saltwater baits in freshwater with great success, maybe it is because it is something the fish rarely see, especially in high pressured fishing areas."

Great alternative to the Butterfly,January 1, 2008
By Wayfastfrom Florida
"These jigs are just as lethal as the Butterfly jigs. We went 32 miles out in the gulf to a spring where we have had tremendous sucess with the butterfly jigs in the past. I purchsed these to see if they were as good. hooked up to Ajs to 30 punds on 80% of our drops. When we tired of that we headed to another spot that we had never fished before. First drop produced a nice gag and we proceded to hook up to gags and reds on every drift. Biggest gag was around 18 lbs. I love the butterflys but at half the cost these are the only jigs you will see me purchase."

Proven in Puerto Rico's west coast,July 15, 2007
By Richard
"Was attracted to their affordable price. Bought 8 in the 3 colors that were left available (5oz. green mack, blue mack, and purple). As the marlin bite was slow, tried them in 250 - 350 ft of water next to a popular wahoo drop off on my way back. Caught 3balckfin, 1 skipjacks, a 150lbs reef shark, 1.5 amberjacks (sharks got one of them), 5 barracudas, 2 kings (one of them = 32lbs), 2 Rock Hind groupers, and 8 black jacks. Lost 3 rigs to biggy critters (all 3 could not be stopped.. All 3 broke wire leader). I assumed they were sharks.
Tackle used: 65 lbs power pro on a penn 9500ss and a shimano TVS66MH rod.... I had fun!
Note: I changed the red nylon twine rig to 90lbs seven strand wire (used the same hooks that came with the jigs). Did not trust the twine to perform well with the toothy critters I know dwell in the waters I fished.
I usually used shimano's butterfly jigs, but these work just as well and cost 60% less."
