bad buckle

Disadvantages: Performance, Quality
"The tray itself is good but the plastic buckle broke on the first trip. BPS needs to go to a quality velcro strap or another style without the cheap plastic buckle!"

It does the job.

Advantages: Durability, High Quality, Value for money
Disadvantages: sides are little high
"For a cheap tray holder it does the job pretty good. I only give it 3 stars because it has high sides and if you have to try to pull your baterry out for any reason the sides on the tray is to high and the top of the battery will hit the boat depending on where the batterys are mounted. I shaved down the front of the tray incase I ever had to get to the batterys out on the lake so I wouldnt have to unscrew it from the boat and pull both batterys out, besides that its a good product for the price."

Advantages: Durability
"Nice tray, its light and easy to use. You can cut the taps were you bolt it to the floor of boat if you don't have to much room in the back of boat and make your own holes inside the tray."

Not like other negative reviews

"I ordered for the 27 and they are the same as a 31. It stated 31 on the package and thought it was incorrect. It fits like a glove. Now the Customer Service Dept. has heard your concerns and have now included 4 screws in the package to mount the tray. I used 10-24 screws because I mounted it to the bilge tray. Didn't want to end up getting scratched by a screw point in the future."

Very disappointed

,
April 1, 2008
By munnman
"I have been a BPS customer for almost 30 years, and overall I would say that a majority of their products have been very satisfactory. Unfortunately, this product does not fall within that realm. On the very first trip, after installing this tray, I arrived at the lake after a 30 minute trip on paved roads, to find my size 24 battery laying on it's side, and the plastic buckle broken at the clip. Fortunately I had a spare strap at home with a metal buckle. I would recommend NOT buying this particular product until/if BPS goes back to a buckle/strap system actually capable of holding a battery in place."

Good Trays

,
March 11, 2008
By Spence
from Chewelah, WA
"I own two of the 29/31 and one of the group 27. They work well and strap the batteries down tight. They do not come with screws secure the trays to your boat, but I had spares laying around so it was no big deal. Besides, these trays do come with the equipment to "mount" the batteries to the trays, which I believe is the implication of the add."

Not what I expected

,
August 23, 2007
By Cf
"I ordered the tray meant for 29/31 size batteries. As another review pointed out, it did not come with any hardware as stated. It was only a tray and a strap. I expected a 29/31 BPS branded tray (see the ad where it says they are BPS branded) with screw tabs the same distance apart like the 24 and 27 trays have. However this tray is the T-M Marine tray they also sell in-store. If you are upgrading from one of the other BPS trays, the holes in your boat will not line up with the tabs on this 29/31 tray. I am not going to drill any more holes in the boat and will either return this tray or find a workaround for it. Item number 38-502-340-00 should be listed separately from the other two BPS trays."
